Bodegas Bentomiz is a family winery that we, André Both and Clara Verheij, founded in 2004. We had restored an abandoned vineyard and realised the potential of the local grapse, to produce delicate, personal wines of exceptional quality. The wines we made got an enthusiastic reception. They are now sold on three continents and served in many Michelin-starred restaurants. We offered guests guided

winery tours - including our vineyards and the wine making process - and wine tastings. In 2015 we opened our own restaurant so that, after the wine tasting guests could experience a gourmet lunch made from fresh, local ingredients, either within our light and airy salon, with balcony views from the mountains to the sea, or on our shaded terrace, beside the herb garden and vineyard.

You may have heard that the road between Sayalonga and Cómpeta has been closed due to rain damage. This is correct - don't worry though, you can still come to enjoy our winery tours, wine tastings and gourmet lunches!

If you are at the coast, you simply take the 940 junction from the motorway towards Torrox (pueblo) and then follow signs up that road to Cómpeta. From Cómpeta you take the road down towards Sayalonga; you arrive at the entrance to the track that brings you to us in just 300m (before you reach the road closure).

With the wine tasting we offer an optional platter - a snack of cold cuts and quality cheeses to accompany the wines in the tasting. But if there is anything there you don't or can't eat just let us know; we can adapt, like the vegan platter on the right.
