Today we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group of people from Kansas (USA). We love sharing our knowledge at Gospa, a century-old orchard with dozens of amazing citrus varieties, some of them truly stunning! And if every visitor enjoys themselves and ends up saying that this was the highlight of their visit to Seville, then we once again see the value in Gospa’s commitment to ensuring that all our visitors and customers are happy. That’s what we’re all about! Here’s the photo they took of us showing off our tiger lemons!

We miss the wonderful group of students from the University of Alabama, but tomorrow we will be welcoming another group of American students, this time from Georgia State University. It is always a joy to welcome them, share our knowledge and enjoy time together at Gospa, our century-old orchard.

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT GOSPA🍊
With the students from the University of Alabama (USA). Their faces say it all!

A very full schedule. We started in the warehouse to gain an in-depth understanding of how the export of high-quality organic fruit to the rest of Europe works.

And from there to our century-old orchard. Two hours immersed amongst Seville orange trees over 150 years old and 7 metres tall, learning how they are grown and harvested and gaining an understanding of citrus fruits on a tour of almost 100 varieties…

And as they were able to volunteer in the fields, we carried out some maintenance and cleaning tasks together.

What a joy these young people are, so full of energy and cheer!

Gospa is delighted to welcome groups like this. You’ve said that this visit was the highlight of your trip to Spain. We’ll keep you in our hearts until we meet again! Long live the young ones!

What an incredible photo Gabby, a student from the University of Alabama (USA), took of me when the group of students from that university came down into our ancient well. Yes, it’s a Roman well dating back some 2,000 years! A real gem in Gospa!

Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs and, indeed, the British came to these lands, drawn by the climate, the fertile soil and, of course, the abundant water. Beneath our feet lies the second most important aquifer in southern Spain. This spot was chosen as the most suitable and iconic place to plant the Seville Oranges that became world-famous!

As for this well, I can tell you: it is 30 metres deep and has 20 metres of permanent water. Imagine that where I am now in the photo (I came down via a centuries-old passage carved into the rock) I can touch the water with my hand – crystal-clear, extraordinary water!
