I spent a great day yesterday at in Jerez, a wine fair held every two years for sweet and fortified wines from around the world. I tasted some great wines including Toneles, which may be the greatest Moscatel or Muscat wine made anywhere. Extremely complex with a finish that goes on and on.......

I organised a wine tasting for my group last night of champagne and burgundy, bought on my travels in the summer. We finished on a high, drinking two wines that were respectively 90 and a 100 years old!!! Amazingly, they were still both very drinkable. All in all, a fantastic evening.

A superbvisit to with a wonderful group of people from Wales. Estefanía who is brilliant took us through a tasting of a large range of non-fortified wines (vinos de pasto) from vineyards close to , almost all of which came directly from the cask.
