BAR EL COMMERCIO
📍Seville, Spain

On our last day in Seville, we went to Bar El Commercio to get some churros for breakfast. I had seen this place all over social media and if you know me you know I love to follow a trend and go where Instagram tells me too. The churros in Seville were different to those we know in the UK and ones I’d had before. The batter is much lighter and more Yorkshire Pudding like than doughnut like. That being said, I actually preferred them and we managed to share a big portion with a chocolate dipping sauce and not feel full or bloated.

Postcards from Seville 🇪🇸🍊

I’ve recently got back from a city break away to Seville for 3 nights. We visited this beautiful city in late March/early April and the weather was bright and sunny but not too hot, making it perfect to explore.

Our trip was slow paced and we focussed our sight seeing on…
📍Real Alcázar de Sevilla
📍Setas de Sevilla
📍Plaza de Espana
📍Catedral de Sevilla & La Giralda

The lovely smell of orange blossom from the orange trees around the city filled the air.

Whilst we visited, Spain was celebrating Palm Sunday and the streets were full with people watching the Religious Easter celebration processions go by.

I would definitely recommend Seville to anyone looking for a relaxed city break with great sites and amazing food. I will be posting my food content from this trip soon so keep your eyes peeled 👀

Mushroom Orzo Risotto with Crispy Halloumi Crumb 🍄‍🟫

I pretty much have most of Mob’s recipe books as I find their recipes interesting and easy to follow. The other day we tried this take on a traditional risotto recipe but using orzo pasta instead to use up some mushrooms we had in the fridge. We also adapted the recipe to include a crispy fried halloumi crumb on top.

Ingredients:
* 20 g dried porcini mushrooms
* salted butter
* 1 brown onion
* 250g chestnut mushrooms
* 400 g orzo pasta
* vegetable stock cube
* Parmesan cheese
* fresh parsley
* fresh tarragon
* salt and pepper
Method:
1. Soak the dried porcini mushrooms in 120 ml of boiling water.
2. Melt 1 tablespoon of salted butter in a large frying. Add a finely chopped brown onion and cook until soft. Add sliced chestnut mushrooms and cook until they are lightly browned.
3. Add the orzo pasta and stir it around so it is covered with the butter.
4. Add a stock cube to a measuring jug and 675ml of hot water. Stir and allow the cube to dissolve.
5. Add the vegetable stock and the water from the porcini mushrooms (but not the mushrooms themselves yet). Bring to the boil over a high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer, stiring often, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. This should take 12 minutes. If the mixture becomes too thick before the pasta is done, add a little more water.
6. Stir in 100 g of grated Parmesan. Chop up your soaked porcini mushrooms and stir these in. Add both a handful of chopped parsley and chopped tarragon (reserving some whole leaves of both to garnish) and stir through the dish. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Spoon the risotto into wide bowls and sprinkle with leftover herbage and some extra Parmesan.
8. Enjoy!

Moc & More 🍵
📍Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

One of my fave local coffee shops has just opened a new cafe in Beaconsfield. Whilst we were in the area at the weekend, we popped in to check it out.

I of course had a hot matcha latte and we shared a Brie, Sundried Tomato & Pesto toasted ciabatta. Afterwards, we also shared a warmed cinnamon bun, as these are my most favourite sweet treat in the world

FRURT
Frozen Yoghurt
📍High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

Frurt invited me a while ago to their official new Frozen Yoghurt shop in High Wycombe. They have a variety of different flavours of frozen yoghurts with loads of toppings and sauces to choose from. We had a Vegan Mango Soy Frozen Yoghurt with Passionfruit, Strawberries and Blueberries and also a Popcorn Frozen Yoghurt with Chocolate Chips, Crumbled Flake, Mini Ice-Cream Cones and Kinder Bueno Sauce. I’m such a Froyo fan and this was delicious, especially the Popcorn Flavour!

📍Flat Iron

Flat Iron is one of my fave restaurants in London. I think the food is great and reasonably priced!

When I visit I always get the standard flat iron steak with the truffle mac and cheese, creamed spinach and chips to share.
