A day at the Vineyard🍷☀️

Stanlake Park Wine Estate

Just an hours train from Paddington Station in London is Stanlake Park Wine Estate in Berkshire, where you can enjoy a Vineyard and Winery tour for only £30!

We were guided through the vineyards and winery where we learned the history of the estate and the process of wine making. Along our tour we sampled 6 award-winning English wines including whites, rosés, reds, and sparkling.

After our tour, we relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine in the wine bar garden with some charcuterie and a bottle of the vineyard’s orange wine.

This was the perfect girl’s Summer day out and a great escape from London!

We enjoyed a 3 course lunch at the newly refurbished Bellhouse Brasserie in the Crowne Plaza Hotel yesterday afternoon.

Starters included Scallops with Chorizo and Burrata followed by Tuscan Sea Bass and Pea & Shallot Ravioli for mains. For dessert we had tiramisu which is one of my faves and churros with a strawberry, chocolate and caramel dip. With the food, we enjoyed a couple of mocktails which were a virgin mojito and a berry blast.

The food was all really good and reasonably priced. The restaurant also host events and would be a great venue for a work Christmas party too.

When you’re exploring Richmond and your cousin says he knows a spot for lunch and then takes you to Via Romana Deli for the best Italian sandwiches!

Even better when we both couldn’t decide between two off the menu so shared both. These included the “Ottaviano” (Prosciutto di Parma, Buffalo Sracciatella, Rocket and Truffle Spread) and the “Flaminio” (Bresaola, Parmesan Shavings, Rocket, Truffle Spread and Balsamic Glaze).

Celebrating Afternoon Tea Week in style at Claridges… 🫖🇬🇧

Each year we have a belated birthday celebration for my Mum during the Summer of Afternoon Tea at an iconic London Hotel. This year we went to Claridges and enjoyed Afternoon Tea in their Foyer and Reading Room. We had a selection of 5 different sandwiches including Cucumber with lemon crème fraîche and mint, Egg mayonnaise with mustard cress and chives, Smoked salmon with dill cream cheese and capers, Roasted chicken with honey mustard mayonnaise and baby gem & Ham with tomato relish and rocket on onion bread. This was followed by a sweet course of the scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of patisserie where we enjoyed a Milk Chocolate and popcorn tart, Pineapple and tonka bean sablé breton, Peach and lemon verbena pavlova & a Cherry and crème fraîche mousse.

Overall, it was a lovely afternoon out in London with great food and in such an amazing setting.

Where to eat & drink in Malta… 🇲🇹

Whilst in Malta we enjoyed some great food and drinks from a variety of different places in Valletta, Mdina and Marsaxlokk. The Maltese cuisine has Italian and North African influences.

Breakfast at The Ivy
The Ivy Collection

One of my fave spots for breakfast!

The Ivy never disappoints with great food in such a lovely atmosphere. This time I tried their smoked salmon with Potato Rösti, poached egg, chive cream cheese and a watercress salad which was delicious!!
