PARC Center-Level Annual Research Review (2025/26)
Pawe Agricultural Research Center successfully conducted its 2025/26 Center-Level Annual Research Review over four consecutive days (18-21/05/2018 E.C). The review meeting was organized with the participation of senior and experienced resource persons assigned by EIAR from Jimma and Debre Markos Agricultural Research Centers, alongside senior researchers from PARC. Completed, ongoing, and newly proposed research activities were critically reviewed, with particular emphasis on newly initiated research proposals to ensure their scientific relevance, methodological soundness, and alignment with national research priorities. During the review sessions, each research process presented the research outputs, progress reports, and proposed plans. Senior researchers from PARC and the invited external resource persons rigorously evaluated the research activities and proposals. Constructive comments, technical feedback, and practical recommendations were provided to each research process and program, with the aim of improving research quality, strengthening methodologies, and ensuring relevance for program-level and national-level research reviews. Following thorough technical evaluation, the newly proposed research activities were reviewed, refined, and approved at the center level with critical guidance from senior researchers and external researchers. The review carried out with a comprehensive plenary discussion led by the delegated resource persons and the Center Director. Key cross-cutting issues, common challenges, research gaps, and strategic directions were identified and summarized. The meeting also emphasized the importance of incorporating the provided feedback into revised research proposals and implementation plans, strengthening inter-process collaboration, and ensuring effective documentation and follow-up of agreed action points. Overall, the Center-Level Annual Research Review was successful in enhancing the quality, relevance, and coherence of PARC’s research portfolio and in preparing well-refined research outputs and proposals for subsequent program-level and national research evaluations.
