Can a c**k lays an egg?
Many non- professionals ask this question many times, so we are very concerned to answer it.
For an egg(ovum) to be formed, there are requirements to be fulfilled by the organism. The organism should contain organs like o***y, fallopian tube, oviduct and so on. These organs have different functions concerning the egg formation. Immature eggs(ova) are produced by the o***y, and this is applicable to all organisms including human being. That eggs should pass down from o***y along fallopian tubes to oviducts. Then all structures including egg shell(in case of bird) are formed in the oviduct. In short, none of the above organs is presence in male chicken.
Hence, there is no possibility for a male chicken to produce an egg as long as he doesn't possess the above organs. Furthermore, there are two types of the egg namely fertilized and unfertilized eggs. The former is formed when a male s***m cell fertilized the female egg cell while the latter is formed without the presence of male. You may wonder how this is possible.
Well, under normal circumstance, the female is able to fully develop the egg but that egg contains only cells from female.
We hope this answered your question.
