Seeds of Hope Bloom in Mankon–Bamenda: Over 500 Farmers Gather for a Future Without Hunger on March 6th 2026
In the vibrant farming communities surrounding Mankon–Bamenda, an extraordinary moment of hope unfolded as more than 500 farmers gathered with one shared purpose: to secure natural, high-quality planting seeds for the upcoming farming season.
They came from nearby villages, traveling in groups and arriving in numbers that reflected both the urgency of the moment and the resilience of the people. For many of these farmers, access to healthy, natural seeds is not simply a farming input it is the foundation of food security, family survival, and community prosperity.
The atmosphere in Alachu was filled with gratitude, anticipation, and determination. The Presbyterian Church, together with the local pastor, warmly opened its doors to host the distribution team and the farmers who had gathered. In a powerful moment of unity, the pastor led a prayer over the seeds—blessing the harvests to come and the families whose lives depend on them.
Behind the success of the day stood a committed team of coordinators whose dedication made the event possible. Geraldine Ambid Nih Ambang Christabel ,Delphine Ndifir, and several other volunteers worked tirelessly to organize the distribution and ensure that every farmer was served with care and dignity.
“This experience in Alachu was simply awesome,” shared Josephine Atanga II , founder of Seeds of Hope – Seed Bank.
At its heart, Seeds of Hope – Seed Bank exists to restore farmers’ access to healthy, natural seeds, empower rural farming communities, and help prevent hunger by strengthening local agriculture. By preserving and distributing sustainable seed varieties, the initiative enables farmers to grow nutritious crops, protect biodiversity, and build resilience against food shortages.
The turnout of over 500 farmers was a powerful reminder: the need is great, but so is the hope.
This initiative was made possible through the generous support and partnership of Powered by WomenDesigned ForSuccess , Show Me Mercy, NGO-Usa, Kofi Realtor, Franck Documentaries, Ikpnd Iko Fi Magazine' aunty Chris Deco ,organizations committed to uplifting communities and investing in a future where every family has enough to eat.
Yet this is only the beginning.
With continued support, Seeds of Hope Seed Bank aims to reach even more farmers next year, expand seed access to additional villages, and strengthen community-based agriculture across the region.
When a farmer receives a seed, a family receives a future.
Those who wish to support this life-changing work are invited to join the movement because together, we can plant the seeds that will feed communities, restore hope, and grow a hunger-free tomorrow.
Thank you to Sally-Rachel Ngale Roger Nih , Ngale Mc Daniel Joseph Eyong and all the volunteers for their support and sacrifices towards this.
