In the foothills of the Pico de Bandeiro mountain we find Ninho de Aguia, the farm of our friend and long-time partner Clayton Barossa Monteiro, who took over the family farm, at first reluctantly, after focusing on a burgeoning surfing career. ⁠

Upon first inspection, Ninho de Aguia likens a wild forest, it’s not until closer inspection that one sees the coffee plants nestled among the trees and vines. Clayton believes that this biodiversity produces more flavorful and exciting coffee, we couldn’t agree more! 💛☕️⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Our mission to change the coffee industry continues. This week, our co-founder Lars Pilengrim is travelling back to Uganda, where we have our farm, process station and also run our Coffee Scout Project.🌿🌼⁠

The project’s mission is to support and educate local farmers in working in a more climate-smart way. This includes everything from providing facilities to clean and process their coffee beans - ensuring the best possible quality (so Lykke can buy their coffee) to teaching new pruning techniques that help coffee plants produce more cherries, and ultimately more coffee beans! ☀️🗻
