Oven-Baked Seekh Kebabs
Ingredients
- 400 g qeema (minced meat)
- 2 tbsp seekh kebab masala
- 1 tbsp ajwain
- 1 tbsp cumin (zeera)
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- ½ tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika powder
- A few red or green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 2 tbsp gram flour (besan), dry roasted
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Vegetables
- Grind the onion and bell pepper together.
- Squeeze out the excess juice.
- Add the squeezed onion and bell pepper mixture to the qeema.
- You can also add a little of the strained juice for extra flavor if the mixture is too dry.
2. Make the Kebab Mixture
In a large bowl, combine:
- Qeema
- Seekh kebab masala
- Ajwain
- Cumin
- Coriander powder
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika powder
- Chopped chilies
- Ginger garlic paste
- Onion and bell pepper mixture
- Roasted gram flour
Mix everything very well for 5–7 minutes until the mixture becomes sticky and well combined.
3. Shape the Kebabs
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Spread the qeema mixture evenly in a thin layer.
- Press it down firmly with your hands or the back of a spoon.
- Use a knife to make long cuts in the shape of seekh kebabs.
4. Bake
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes.
- Halfway through baking, you can add onion slices, tomato slices, and green chilies on top if you like.
- For extra color, turn on the grill for the last 3–5 minutes.
5. Serve
Serve hot with:
- Chapati or naan
- Green chutney
- Rice
- Or use them to make roll parathas
