It might be KBC 2.0, but it’s the same faces behind the scenes.

We’ve been brewing, serving and figuring things out together since 2018. A lot has changed along the way, but one thing hasn’t: on the last Saturday of every month, we open the brewery doors and show you around. Meeting you and hearing what you think has meant a lot to us throughout these eight years.

The next Open brewery tour is this Saturday 26.09. at 12 pm. This time the tour is hosted by Eeva, so get ready to be showered with stories.

Come see where the b**r is made, hear what goes on behind the brewery doors and taste some of our latest brews. The tour takes about an hour and there are still a few places available (link in bio).

OKAY, WE’VE KEPT A SECRET. THE CHANGE IS ALREADY HERE.

For almost nine years, we’ve been brewing, serving and hustling, wide-eyed and full of excitement. We’ve tried things, changed our minds, learned, made mistakes and grown into what KBC is today.

Along the way, we’ve been lucky enough to gather an incredible group of people around us. People who choose our brews, pull up a chair and make our places come alive. Hospitality rock stars at the forefront of food and drink culture, who share our values and passion for better-tasting lives. The people who have worked alongside us, and the creative minds who have given KBC its colours, shapes and voice. All of them have helped make KBC what it is today.

A lot has changed, but the heart of KBC hasn’t.

KBC 2.0 isn’t about becoming bigger or turning into something new. It’s about knowing our strong suits better, sharpening our focus and putting more of our energy into what truly matters.

We don’t want to be everything to everyone. We want to be more KBC.

TURKU YOU SHOWED UP 🍦

Thank you Jugge Bar for bringing a little piece of Jugge to Turku and taking over Kirkkopuisto with us for the weekend.

We did not quite expect queues stretching all the way to the church and well over 1,000 froyo cups served in three days.

Seeing the park packed with people with froyo cups from morning until evening was something else.

Thank you Jugge for making the trip from Helsinki and thank you Turku for showing up big time.

We loved every second of it.

A big decision and letting go…

INTRODUCING ORIGINAL L***R

For almost seven years, this b**r has been known as Mäkil***r. If you’ve visited the Hill of Kakola, chances are you’ve had a pint. It’s been poured at every Kakola location (on tap only, never bottled) and has made up a lion’s share of what we’ve brewed.

Earlier this year, life forced us to hit pause after the fire. It gave us the chance to ask ourselves what KBC really is, and what we want it to stand for. We didn’t want to reinvent ourselves. We wanted to become clearer, more focused and more honest about who we are.

We realized our favourite l***r had been right in front of us all along. Over the years we’ve refined it together with locals, obsessing over every little detail until it became exactly what we wanted it to be. If there was one b**r that deserved to represent KBC, it was this one.

So we’re finally bottling it. And Mäkil***r is now called Original L***r.

Same recipe. Same b**r. Just a name that finally reflects what it has always been: our essence.

Alongside it comes a refined visual identity that reflects the next chapter of KBC. Huge thanks to the brilliant Mikael Kivelä, who brought KBC 2.0 to life.
