📍 Northern Growers Consultation – Waiqele & Seaqaqa
The Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) successfully conducted two pocket consultation meetings with growers in the Northern Division on 4 June 2026.
The first session was held at the residence of Mr. Kamal Narayan on Airport Road, Waiqele, followed by a second session at the residence of Mr. Wazid Ali in Vunivere, Seaqaqa.
During the consultations, growers were updated on current industry challenges and the support measures available through SCGF. Awareness was also created on reduced lending rates, Mortgage Protection Cover, the SCGF 5Si Special Social Security Savings Scheme with Insurance, digital services through mySCGF App, and other products and services designed to support growers and their families.
The meetings provided a valuable platform for growers to share their views, raise concerns, and engage directly with SCGF representatives - CEO - Mr. Raj Sharma, Mr. Vijinesh Naidu - Relationship Support Officer at Seaqaqa District and Mr. Arvind Chandra - Senior Relationship Officer at Labasa District on matters affecting their farming operations and livelihoods.
SCGF sincerely thanks the host families and all growers who attended and contributed to the discussions as we continue working together towards a resilient and sustainable sugar industry.
We look forward to meeting more growers and hearing their views as the consultation programme continues tomorrow, 5 June 2026, at the residence of Mr. Prem Chand in Kilikoso, Daku, from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
