Happy Mother’s Day to the two women whose love, strength and values continue to shape not only me — but now, the little boy watching me become a mother too 🤍
Becoming Jiyaan’s mum has changed the way I see both of you completely.
Mum — the older I get, the more I realise how much of you lives within me. You raised me to be courageous, confident, compassionate and unapologetically strong. And now as I raise Jiyaan, I catch myself doing so many things the way you did with me — encouraging him to be bold, to speak up, to be kind, to love deeply and to stand tall in who he is.
And to my beautiful mother-in-law — thank you for being so much more than a mother-in-law. Thank you for listening to every thought, worry, dream and emotion without judgement. You’ve always made me feel safe, supported and understood (even though we often misunderstand each other 😝) and never once made me feel like an outsider. Your patience and warmth are qualities I admire so deeply.
What makes motherhood so special to me now is realising that Jiyaan gets a beautiful mix of everything passed down from both of you.
He gets to see a mum who is bold and fearless, but also soft and vulnerable when it comes to loving him.
A mum who dreams big, works hard, loves fiercely and still values family above everything else.
And so much of that exists because of the women who raised and embraced me.
Thank you both for the love, values and strength you continue to pour into our lives every single day. I hope one day Jiyaan grows up knowing just how lucky he is to be surrounded by generations of strong, loving mums 🤍
