Through , team members around the world are encouraged to use their volunteer day to support causes that matter to them and create positive environmental impact.

Eduardo chose to spend his volunteer day helping to create cardboard toy houses from reused materials, giving new life to items that might otherwise go to waste while bringing joy to others. He also shared how volunteering provides an opportunity to connect with the community, work alongside colleagues, and contribute to something bigger than yourself.

"I wasn't sure I could be useful." - Raphaël Laplane, Veoliaforce Volunteer from Veolia Water Tech.

But he certainly was! When Médecins Sans Frontières / MSF France faced critical sanitation challenges at their hospitals in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, they needed more than just equipment – they needed high-level expertise.

That's where the Veolia Foundation stepped in! Our incredible Veoliaforce volunteer, Raphaël, an Engineer at Veolia Water Tech, provided a crucial two-phase technical response:
1️⃣ Strategic Analysis to ensure long-term viability.
2️⃣ A 3-week on-site supervision mission for infrastructure deployment and local team training.

Despite the technical complexity and the unique challenges of working during Ramadan, the mission was a huge success! 🎉 It's a perfect example of how bridges the gap between industrial excellence and humanitarian urgency.

A big thank you to Pascal PLUYAUD for making this vital skills sponsorship possible!

We’re continuing our United Week spotlight, a time for our global teams to celebrate diversity, strengthen inclusion, and reflect on the culture we're continuing to build together worldwide. 🌍

In continuation of this year’s theme of ‘belonging,’ Awa Ndiaye of France and Hugo Simioni of the USA share their take on what belonging means to them.

Awa shares that belonging helped her realize that her culture was not to be left at the door, and that her colleagues all had cultures and positive differences to bring to the table, while Hugo shares that both his background and technical experience matter in the workplace, and that he doesn’t feel as if he needs to leave part of himself behind for career performance.

Stay tuned for more reflections this week from our regional leadership team!

Belonging doesn’t happen through one big moment. It’s built over time through conversations, collaboration, respect for different perspectives, and feeling like your voice matters. 🤝

That’s what United Week is all about at Veolia. Each year, it allows our global teams to celebrate diversity, strengthen inclusion, and reflect on the culture we continue building together. 💧

This year’s theme focuses on belonging — what it feels like, what it requires from each of us, and how the everyday moments we share with colleagues can shape our workplace in meaningful ways. United Week also aligns with the United Nations World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on May 21, reinforcing the idea that our differences help connect us and move us forward.

🌍 Employees from NORAM, LATAM, APAC, MEA, and Europe shared personal reflections on what belonging means to them.

Silvana Takai from Brazil shares that belonging means knowing your experience and perspective is valued, while Lei Zhang from China shares that belonging means ensuring a new colleague feels welcomed and supported.

We’ll be sharing quotes from regional leaders throughout the week, so stay tuned for more reflections on what belonging means across our global teams.
