A new name joins Burgundy Wine Club: Domaine Frey

From just seven hectares in the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Frey produces 13 appellations, culminating in three Grands Crus and their remarkable Monopole, Corton Grand Cru ‘Le Clos du Château’.

Now led by Delphine Frey, alongside cellar master Axelle Piska, formerly of Domaine Étienne Sauzet and Jaboulet, a new chapter is taking shape in Aloxe-Corton.

Organic viticulture, biodynamic principles, Clayver ceramic alongside oak, and a focus on precision, tension and purity.

And the results are already turning heads: 96 points for the Corton Clos du Château and 95 for the Corton-Charlemagne.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Domaine Frey to the BWC portfolio.

Over 75,000 of you watched our last video with , so we thought we’d show you the wine he himself calls the flagship of the domaine.

Éclat de Calcaire 2024.

95% Chardonnay, 5% Aligoté, predominantly from Meursault, with a little Chassagne and Pommard.

Pierre puts the same amount of work into this Bourgogne as his Grand Crus and says it’s made in the same way as his Bâtard-Montrachet.

And it smells unmistakably PVG.

Gunflint. Reduction. Like standing outside on the 5th November with fireworks going off everywhere.

Then underneath it: dense lemon and grapefruit, beautiful creaminess and a palate absolutely loaded with tension and mouthwatering acidity.

Jancis Robinson called the 2024 a “mini-Meursault”.

But perhaps Pierre says it best:

“The flagship of the domaine is still Éclat de Calcaire.”

We spent some time with Philippe Chavy in June 2026, ahead of the harvest, walking the vineyards he farms across the Côte de Beaune.

Here, Philippe takes us through Au Moulin Landin, a Meursault village vineyard sitting just outside the village itself.

With another hot summer underway, the work at this point is all about balance: arranging the canopy to keep the bunches well aerated, while paying particularly close attention to the younger vines, which can struggle more under heat and drought.

It’s the sort of vineyard work you rarely see once the wine reaches the bottle, but it’s where so much of the character of a vintage is shaped.

Alban and Morgane Desazars founded together in Auxey-Duresses, building it from the ground up as husband and wife.

The name comes from the Latin for “from scratch”, and it captures exactly how their story began.

Their approach is deliberately restrained. Low intervention, close attention to the vineyards, and a belief that the wine should speak first and foremost of where it comes from.

A young domaine, created together, with Burgundy’s terroir at its heart.

A domaine shaped by two sides of Burgundy.

A.F. Gros was created in 1988 by Caroline’s parents. Her mother brought the family’s roots in Vosne-Romanée, while her father, François Parent, brought those of Pommard.

Two villages. Two distinct identities. One family domaine.

Today, Caroline runs the estate alongside her brother Mathias, who took full responsibility for the vinification from the 2013 vintage.

The next generation, carrying forward vineyards and a family story that stretches across both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune.

And Rosalie is rarer still.

A 100% Gamay rosé, aged on the lees of Volnay Premier Cru Pinot Noir, giving it far more depth and character than you might ever expect from a Rosé.

The final step. One by one, the back labels go on Rosalie by hand. Lined up, smoothed down, checked, and ready for the shelves.

A tiny part of the process, but a lovely reminder that proper wine is still full of human moments.

NEW GROWER ANNOUNCEMENT | Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier.

A domaine of remarkable quietness and precision, Mugnier has become one of Burgundy’s most revered names. From the haunting perfume of Chambolle-Musigny to the profound depth of Musigny Grand Cru, these are wines that have inspired generations of collectors and sommeliers alike.

At the heart of the estate is Frédéric Mugnier himself. Thoughtful, meticulous and fiercely committed to expressing place above all else. His wines never shout. They don’t need to. They are defined by elegance, transparency and an extraordinary sense of calm.

To now represent Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier is an immense privilege and one of the proudest moments in our journey so far.

Some wines are difficult to describe.

Not because there is nothing to say, but because there is far too much.

Domaine de la Bongran’s La Cuvée Botrytis 1994 is one of those bottles. Sweet Burgundy is already almost mythical. Properly aged, fully botrytised Burgundy from one of the region’s most singular domaines feels like something from another world entirely.

Orange zest. Candied fruit. Honey. Stewed apple. A little peach. That strange, beautiful feeling of walking into an old antique shop where everything has a story, but nothing feels tired.

And that is the magic here. For all the richness, for all the sweetness, for all the age, the wine is still alive. Fresh, lifted, detailed, almost impossible to pin down.

We are incredibly grateful to Domaine de la Bongran for releasing this wine, especially as these were the final 12 bottles remaining at the domaine.

A tiny allocation will be available through Burgundy Wine Club.

A very, very rare bottle.
