Cognac day 2014 was all about the people. Those striving to produce an extraordinary product of course. But also building the bridge between 2 communities on both sides of the Atlantic. The students of Cognac and Pinecrest had a first encounter by Skype, preparing for more and their first visits. We worked with the Musee des Arts du Cognac again, and the exhibition 'Cognac Goes Tropical' also strives to build that bridge. Many many thanks , Merci, to both mayor Lerner and Gourinchas for such a successful day. Philippe Létrillart, Consul Général de France, found inspiring words for all.

Pinecrest students and Cognac, France students Skyped for the first time yesterday during Pinecrest’s Official Cognac Day to kick-of an exchange program between the sister cities. The first Pinecrest-Cognac exchange students are expected to travel abroad early next year. The students and teachers plan to Skype once a month. Special guests included Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner, Cognac Mayor Michel Gourinchas, Palmetto Middle School’s French Club teacher and Assistant Principal, Chantal Martell and the Consul General of France Philippe Letrillart.
