Q. Why has Lolo planted all these new grape varieties around his 40-year old Malbec, Merlot, Jurançon Noir & white varieties (Gros Manseng and Ugni Blanc)?
A. Why not❓

Q. What has he planted?
A. ❤️

Q. Wasn’t he scared to plant varieties like that in the face of climate change?
A. No. He’s not scared of anything 💪 : “if it works, it works..and frankly, of all the varieties I’ve planted, the Pinots have taken the best, they look two years older than the rest”. First harvest coming up in 2026 🍷😀

Q. What may be the secret of their deliciousness ?
A. Clay-limestone. 330m. South-facing.

The lovely Laurent (Lolo) Marre — born in the Lot in 1968 - rugby 🏉 enduro 🏍️ climber 🧗‍♂️ traveller 🌍 music lover 🎶 sommelier 🍷 wine bar founder 🗼and since 2018, reputed in -sur-Avalon 😉

Lolo met his wife, Nathalie, also a sommelier, in Paris. He wooed her in the good old fashioned way 💕- with a nice bottle of wine🍷and talk of what is and could be 🔮

Now she’s a farrier, horse-drawn carriage driver and ploughwoman at the reins of the vineyard’s equine team 🐴

The horses plough 🐴🐴🐴, the sheep mow🐑🐑🐑 and Pollux the dog 🐶 keeps everyone on the go on this wine farm on the limestone plateau of .

Dry stone walls, Jurassic soils, lavender, olive trees, holm oaks and vines under big, moody, January skies…From the XL terrace that backs onto the winery, you can take it all in, and get a peek of the 🏔️

Old Malbec, Merlot and Jurançon Noir, young Syrah and Pinot Noir ♥️ Gros Manseng, Ugni blanc, Chenin and Trousseau 🤍

I’m very excited to share the clean, balanced, mineral-driven wines of at my tastings this year - and see more of what’s to come in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage🐴🍇🍷☀️

🇬🇧H**e .bishop.545402 serving nectar of , a rare grape variety, native to the Lot, vinified naturally . 12 months on slats. Disgorged. No dosage. Beautiful sparkling wine with delicate pear and toasty notes. Creamy effervescence yet so fresh and light that slips away too fast 🥂

🇫🇷 H**e .bishop.545402 servant du nectar de , un cépage rare originaire du Lot, vinifié naturellement - 12 mois sur lattes. Dégorgé. Non dosé. Magnifique vin mousseux aux notes délicates de poire et de pain grillé. Effervescence crémeuse, mais si fraîche et légère, qui s’envole trop vite 🥂
