Terrorists holding abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State have issued four major demands.

Terrorists abducted pupils and teachers from three schools in Oyo State’s Oriire LGA on May 15, 2026.
The group, linked to Ansaru, released a video showing the killing of a teacher days after the attack.
They are demanding ₦1 billion ransom, vehicles, Sharia law implementation, and the release of detained commanders.
The terrorists holding pupils and teachers abducted from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have issued four main demands to the government before they will release the remaining hostages.

The group, identified as members of Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimeena Fii Bilaadis Sudan (better known as Ansaru)—a Boko Haram splinter group—attacked the remote communities of Esinele, Yawota, and Alawusa on May 15, 2026.

During an interview on Trust TV, Ibrahim Abdulkarim, a political associate of Peter Obi, spoke about past political calculations and alliances ahead of previous elections.
Abdulkarim discussed the decision-making process of key political figures, noting that candidates often rely on internal assessments and projections before entering races. He said Obi, in particular, has consistently maintained that he would not contest an election unless he was confident of a viable path to victory.
He also referenced Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, suggesting that political alignments might have been different if earlier projections had reflected the level of support Obi eventually received at the polls
According to him, “I always have this conversation, and I know Peter Obi will always say he looks at the chances; he said if I know I’m not winning, I will not contest. He always tells me, he said if we’re not sealing the pools, we are not seeing the thing that he’s winning; he will not come. Even Kwankwaso himself, that’s what he said. Obi described the incident as “just heartbreaking but a damning indictment of the failure of leadership and the collapse of security in our nation.

A Nigerian doctor has raised alarm after spotting a video of a young lady extracting a liquid food from her dog’s mouth and swallowing same. The trending video showed the youg lady and her puppy outside her home.
She kissed the dog and then used her mouth to extract the liquid food from the dog’s mouth and then proceeded to swallow it. She looked excited afterwards as she smiled to her camera.

The 48-team line-up for the 2026 World Cup has been determined.

This follows the completion of the European and intercontinental play-offs on Tuesday/Wednesday.

The final six teams to book their spots are Congo DR, Iraq, Sweden, Czech Republic, Turkiye and Bosnia & Herzogovina.

They will all join 42 other countries who have already qualified for the tournament.
