Asparagus is here!

Some people wait all year for Christmas, me? I wait for asparagus at the market.

Asparagus is a great example of why eating the seasons is the best, this brief window yields so much goodness and then when it closes, you’re stuck with a really subpar product from across the world.

Not only is to delicious, but it’s also the star of its own political scandal. HUH? Yes, and we cover it on my podcast .

Comment any green vegetable emoji 🥒🫛🫑🥬🥦and I’ll send you the link.

Oh yeah so my very favorite way to eat asparagus is to cook it in a saucepan with a k**b of butter and a splash of water, covered at first to let it steam, then finished with a sauté once the water is all gone.

What’s with the black gloves?

For more of this kind of nonsense, head to the link in my bio or comment “basil” and I’ll send you my YouTube video where I shop at my local market and then cook up what I buy.

We’re filming a new one on Wednesday, hopefully we can bash it out faster this time!

This time of year is so exciting at the market, it’s abundant with all kinds of beautiful produce.

As always I hit up my farmers first for hyper local produce, grown within an hour of here, then I’ll stop by a distributor stand for things like lemons.

Every day is different, vendors show up in different days and in different seasons, but Saturdays are always pretty good.

If you want to watch me shop at the market, reply “basil” and I’ll send you a link to my new YouTube video where I take you through my shopping and then cook lunch.

Come shop at the market and cook with me!

I’ve never made anything this intimate before, but in this season post-baby it’s all about making content that fits in with my life.

So I’m inviting you into my world with my new YouTube series Jour de Marché. We’ll go to the market I’ve been shopping at for the last (almost) decade, you’ll meet my farmers, my friends.

I’ll bring you into my kitchen to cook with me, unscripted, as I figure out what to cook! No recipes, just life.

This is slow content, it’s a little messy, it’s not perfect, I didn’t even clean my kitchen.

It’s The Office meets Barefoot Contessa, but a real documentary.

So if you want to join me for lunch, comment “April” to see what I made a couple weeks ago for family and friends.

Thanks as always to for bringing this to life with me!

I said what I said 🤷‍♀️

Comment “next” to get my guide to Lyon, it’s got shopping, museums, a neighborhood guide, and obviously lots of wining and dining.

Why am I a good guide? Been here for almost a decade, have great taste. 😂

I’ve never been good at asking for help, until now.

Nothing like having a baby to force you to depend on others!

That’s why I was so thrilled to work with Jessica .home.organiser.de.lyon on organizing my studio.

You’ll recognize this space if you’ve been around for awhile, are a fan of , or if you’ve ever done a wine tasting .

“The Canut” was my bachelorette pad, I lived here for 5 years as I settled in Lyon and built my wine tasting and media businesses, but it started to get overstuffed once my life got bigger.

First it was me, then it was me and Lyon Wine Tastings, then I got a dog.

When I met my husband, we both knew there was no way he could fit in there too! I decided to move out so we could live together, but I left most of my stuff at the canut.

So 3 years later I’ve got this great space that is used every day, but full of a lot of crap that didn’t need to be there.

Enter Jessica, who sorted us out in ONE MORNING! With the help of my teammates , we cleared out everything that didn’t serve my wine tasting business. We divided and conquered, literally.

If you’ve moved to France and are struggling with figuring out how to unpack your life and make it fit into your new (and let’s be honest, probably smaller) home, Jessica travels around France helping folks sort their lives out. She speaks great English, and I can’t recommend her more highly!

Thank you so much Jessica .home.organiser.de.lyon for your help! We’ll do my house next 🤣

Comment GROWN for the guide!

Decision fatigue is real, even on vacation.

We’re over it, and we know you are too.

That’s why when we noticed that many of the city guides to Paris are overwhelmingly large, we said nope.

Like…. how does it help me if I still have to choose between hundreds of options?

Here, we keep it tight. wrote a guide for that is actually curated.

It’s still a pretty hefty list with 80 spots across 16 categories, but each of those only has 5 places. And you know what? For a busy traveler to Paris, that’s plenty.

Comment “grown” below to get the link to purchase our no nonsense, easy to use, and truly thoughtful guide to eating and drinking your way through Paris.
