On Friday, October 2nd, at the historic Domaine Pommery in Reims, RĂ©mi Vervier, General Manager of Ch*****ne Palmer & Co and Dignitary of the Ordre Coteaux Ch*****ne, had the great honour and pleasure of celebrating two remarkable figures of the international Ch*****ne world during a memorable Chapitre.
🍾 We were delighted to welcome György Márkus as a new Chevalier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Ch*****ne.
An author, sparkling w**e specialist and permanent judge at the Ch*****ne & Sparkling W**e World Championships, György has devoted many years to tasting, understanding and sharing Ch*****ne both in Hungary and internationally. Through his expertise, writing and deep knowledge of our w**es and terroirs, he has become a true friend and ambassador of Ch*****ne around the world.
🥂 The evening was also a very special occasion to honour Essi Avellan MW, who was elevated to the rank of Dame Chambellan.
Finland’s first Master of W**e and one of Ch*****ne’s leading international specialists, Essi has tirelessly championed our appellation through her books, tastings, international judging and, of course, Grand Ch*****ne Helsinki, which she created and has established as a major meeting place for Ch*****ne. Through her expertise, passion and unwavering commitment, she has become one of the most respected and influential ambassadors for Ch*****ne and its w**es around the world.
Two personalities, two journeys, and the same remarkable passion for Ch*****ne, its w**es, its people and its culture.
We are immensely proud to see their commitment recognised by the Ordre des Coteaux de Ch*****ne and to celebrate the important role they both play in sharing the spirit and excellence of Ch*****ne far beyond our region.
