1934 — 2024 | 90 ans d’histoire familiale

Le 16 janvier 1934, le destin de Grand Mayne croisa celui de la famille Nony.

Ce jour-là Jean, jeune négociant des Chartrons venu de Corrèze, acquit ce domaine dont il s’éprit aussitôt.

Quatre-vingt-dix ans plus t**d, ses petits-fils, Jean-Antoine et Damien, ont souhaité saluer la mémoire de leur aïeul et renouer avec l’audace graphique des étiquettes de son époque.

On 16 January 1934, the destiny of Grand Mayne became entw**ed with that of the Nony family.

That day, Jean, a young w**e merchant in Bordeaux’s Chartrons district, originally from Corrèze, acquired the estate and immediately fell under its spell.

Ninety years later, his grandsons, Jean-Antoine and Damien, wished to honour their grandfather’s memory and revive the graphic boldness of the labels of his era.

40 ans après… ❤️

Ils avaient vingt ans lorsqu’ils sont venus faire les vendanges à Grand Mayne.

Ce week-end, une vingtaine d’entre eux sont revenus retrouver les vignes de leur jeunesse, leurs amis… et déguster quelques-uns des millésimes qu’ils avaient vendangés. 🍷

Des amitiés sont nées ici, des couples aussi, des vies se sont construites… Et samedi soir, autour d’une grande table puis sur la piste de danse, ils avaient de nouveau vingt ans !

Grand Mayne, c’est des vignes, des vins, une histoire familiale… mais aussi de belles histoires humaines et des amitiés qui traversent le temps.

40 ans plus t**d, les souvenirs sont intacts. Et l’amitié aussi. ❤️

They were twenty years old when they first came to harvest the grapes at Grand Mayne.

This weekend, around twenty of them returned to the vineyards of their youth, their old friends… and to taste some of the vintages they had harvested themselves. 🍷

Friendships were born here, couples too, and lives were built… And on Saturday night, gathered around a long table and later on the dance floor, they were twenty again!

Grand Mayne is about vineyards, w**e and a family story… but also about wonderful human connections and friendships that stand the test of time.

40 years later, the memories are still vivid. And so is the friendship. ❤️

Deux frères, trois cousins, une même passion.

Partenaires de l’UBB Grand Cru depuis sa création en 2013, nous sommes particulièrement fiers de célébrer ce nouveau sacre européen de l’Union Bordeaux-Bègles.

Au Château Grand Mayne, propriété dans notre famille depuis 1934, nous partageons avec le rugby les mêmes valeurs : l’engagement, l’esprit d’équipe, la transmission et la patience.

Car dans le vin comme dans le sport, les plus belles victoires se construisent dans le temps.

Et quel bonheur de voir aujourd’hui la quatrième génération perpétuer cette passion portant fièrement les couleurs du Stade Bordelais, l’un des clubs fondateurs de l’UBB.

Bravo à toute la famille UBB pour cette magnifique aventure.

Un moment placé sous le signe du partage, de l’art culinaire et viticole français. 🥖🍷✨

Hier, nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir la famille Insley au Château Grand Mayne pour une visite de la propriété, suivie d’un déjeuner en compagnie de Jean-Antoine.

Au menu : œufs mimosa et mayonnaise à l’estragon, magret de canard accompagné d’un millefeuille de pommes de terre, avant de terminer sur l’incontournable tarte aux fraises, ce dessert réconfortant qui nous replonge instantanément en enfance.
Un déjeuner imaginé et concocté avec talent par Charlotte de .club 🌞🍓

Pour accompagner ces accords gourmands, Jean-Antoine avait carafé trois millésimes de Château Grand Mayne, offrant une belle parenthèse de découverte et de convivialité autour du vin. 🍷

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Insley family to Château Grand Mayne for a tour of the estate, followed by a lunch alongside Jean-Antoine.

On the menu: deviled eggs with tarragon mayonnaise, duck breast served with a potato mille-feuille, and to finish, the timeless strawberry tart — a comforting dessert that instantly brings back childhood memories.

⭐️EN PRIMEUR 2025 🍷

Grand Mayne 2025 marque un tournant. Avec 38 % de Cabernet Franc pour 62% de Merlot c'est une proportion inédite depuis les années 60.
Pour la première fois, 4 % de vendanges entières viennent enrichir l’assemblage, apportant des notes d’épices, d’herbes méridionales et de poivre frais.
Un vin à la texture veloutée, ample et soyeuse qui fera date.

⭐️ EN PRIMEUR 2025🍷

Grand Mayne 2025 marks a true turning point. With 38% Cabernet Franc and 62% Merlot, it represents a proportion not seen since the 1960s.

For the first time as well, 4% whole-cluster fermentation has been incorporated into the blend, bringing notes of spice, Mediterranean herbs, and fresh pepper.

A w**e with a velvety texture, both full-bodied and silky, a w**e that will be remembered.

On dit souvent qu’un vin devient « un grand vin » grâce à son terroir. 🌱

C’est vrai… à condition de bien comprendre ce mot.

Le terroir ce n’est pas seulement le sol. C’est un équilibre subtil entre la vigne, le climat… et le savoir-faire de l’Homme.

Aujourd’hui, Fabienne et Fabien épamprent la vigne pour favoriser la circulation de la la sève vers les rameaux fructifères. Un geste discret mais essentiel à la qualité du raisin. 🍇 🍃

Terroir isn’t just about the soil. It’s a subtle balance between the vine, the climate… and human know-how.

Today, Fabienne and Fabien are suckering the vines to promote the flow of sap towards the fruit-bearing shoots. A discreet gesture, yet essential to the quality of the grapes. 🍇🍃

Marqué par une climatologie chaude et sèche, ce millésime a favorisé une maturité rapide et homogène des raisins, conduisant aux vendanges les plus précoces de l’histoire de la propriété. 🍇

Le vin impressionne par son intensité et sa fraîcheur, ainsi que par sa structure fine et sa complexité profonde, portées par un équilibre remarquable.
