Our Bucks and their sons are enjoying the turn in the weather, enjoying Springtime like the rest of us. They have overwintered outside again this year, and put on weight! Eating only the grass beneath their feet, and sheltered only by themselves, on this windy spot. We are very proud of them.

Meet the Brotherhood! Grandfather, Fathers, Brothers and Sons of our pedigree Noremead herd of Boer Goats. Love is in the air, including the musk (hold your nose), as the rutting season has begun! The natural behaviour can be difficult to watch, as they dominate one another to affirm their place in the hierarchy. There are casualties and winners! Unknown to them, we have made our choices, and five bucks will live their best life ❤️, and woo the ladies in just a few weeks time. Their genetics, health, stature and statics, have made our decision for us. We are confident they will take us forward, with the next generation in 2026, to continue our journey to breed a resilient hardy British goat that finishes on a free range, foraged diet here on the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire.

An achievement here at The Gourmet Goat Farmer , with these Twin Girl Kids, 5 months old and nearing a 30kg each in weight. Their dear Mum has done them proud, feeding on grass alone, sustaining her own body condition and feeding her babes. The twins still cheekily suckle, but are enjoying their grass based diet too. These kids are very much the future of our herd, and we can’t wait to see them become mothers themselves. ❤️ 🐐 👩‍🌾 Oh I should say, if you want some of the good stuff 🥛, we are now selling Goats Milk again from our near neighbour.
