The VIP section this year at Wh**ky Live Paris outdid itself from last year.
Never have we had so much old Laphroaig who were elevated this year to up top. Thanks Laphroaig for opening up the 33, 35 and 39 year old and more this year.
本坊酒造　マルス津貫蒸溜所 stole the show this year with a very lightly peated Sherry puncheon cask number T61 which stole the show for many of us.

Every year, a bunch of us meet up at Golden Promise Bar in France due to the offer of 50% off drams extended by LMDW hosted by Salvatore Manino, the manager of the bar for the last 324 years.
Old drams include one of my favourites, Glen Grant 56 Years Old Book of Kiels which has somewhat been resurrected for the G&M Dram Takers Collection.

We hope more people from the UK can come along to things like this with us and try some epic s**t. If you plan on attending next year get in touch to get in on the fun. The more the merrier and more cost effective it works out.

Everyone is welcome and Wh**ky Live Paris, as I tell people constantly over the last 4/5 years is the largest and best value festival with the longest duration and a real mix of people, brands, characters and afterwards Paris is always alive until … well… all night if people want. The UK shuts down at 12 and sometimes til a little bit later but it’s rare to get some steak at 3am in London where in France restaurants are live AF!

We look forward to seeing you guys early in the line for wh**ky and ci**rs on us.

Last week I drove 19 hours each way from Kentucky to Hye in Texas to visit the Garrison Brothers Distillery. Average temperatures there hit higher than KY at 18-22 degrees meaning far more evaporation of barrels there. The distillery itself is on a huge ranch and has some of the coolest creations for bourbon. By the time it comes to bottling some barrels are half way empty in single digit years.
Texas doesn’t ship outside of the state so people have to make this pilgrimage or be lucky enough to secure some at some of the places available for retail excluding the distillery exclusive barrel strength releases. Volunteers often assist with the waxing of the bottles and packing them in exchange for wh***ey. When I visited it was 38 degrees Celsius!

I also had a 70% ABV Cowboy Bourbon Dr Pepper iced slushee. Ice cold and spicy! The annual cowboy release is typically a hazmat release.

We carry a large range of their releases in our store and have done so for a while.

I hope you all get to try some of this awesomeness. It is oakier than your standard bourbon but exemplary at the same time.

Brad Eldridge Smith takes us through the range of Silverbelly bourbons from Nashville in Tennessee. They could call it Tennessee wh***ey but Nashville bourbon arguably could sound nicer. What do you think?

These bourbons are available on our website under the bourbon section.
I have tried them all and with an average temperature in Tennessee of 13-5 degrees compared to the 12-14 of Kentucky you have some great stuff.
