Full steam ahead (towards next weekend)

On Tuesday a comprehensive site inspection will take place as we want to reassure exhibitors, supporters and visitors that the field conditions are ideal for the Bon Accord Steam and Vintage Fair next weekend. Here we see the team beginning to set up the field a few years ago!

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Castle Fraser, Garden & Estate NTS next weekend. There is still time to get your tickets. Please bear in mind whilst we set up we may be a little slow in amswering any questions. Please use our website or facebook for answers in the first instance.

Do you recognise these men?

We've been sent this picture of all the engine drivers at our first rally at the Bridge of Don in 1970 (56 years ago).

Former Club Chairman (and Honorary Life Member) Sam Barrack, who sent us the image, can identify 11 names out of the 20 drivers (but can anyone beat him?).

This year's Steam and Vintage Fair takes place next weekend at Castle Fraser, Garden & Estate NTS.

Better than ten pressed men...

Did you know that everyone involved in running the Steam Fair and the Club is a volunteer? We have no paid or full time staff (nor do we have any pressed men, or women, for that matter).

This coming week is the busiest week of the year for our committee members so please bear that in mind when contacting the club over the next week. We endeavour to respond to queries as soon as we can but please don't panic if it takes us a day or two.

The countdown to the Steam Fair has well and truly begun.

If you would like to help set up and be part of the Steam Fair the set up will begin in earnest on Thursday 18th of June at 9am @ Castle Fraser, Garden & Estate NTS.

Message from the chairman...

Well thats another year passed. Where has the time gone?

On Tuesday night the Bon Accord Steam Engine Club Committee met for the final monthly meeting prior to the rally. Time really has flown.

We look forward to welcoming you to Scotland's largest steam fair at Castle Fraser, Garden & Estate NTS in just 16 Days Time.

We have a slightly different layout this year so if you have been before you might be located elsewhere. Please do follow all instructions of any Commitee member and remember we are all volunteers. Please no shouting. 😁

I cant wait to put on the show again for everyone! I am so grateful for all the help and support the Club recieves. We have some exciting news to announce in the coming weeks!

Heres a little video of our dancing forklift driver! Hes going to hate me for this but Iain Macleod gives up his time to support the club with forklift work. Our secretary also has some pretty good moves! And Iain Macleod is just one of the volunteers who make it all possible! Il try and introduce the rest of the team as the weeks progress.

For now im off to look out the sun cream!

Did you know?

The Bon Accord Steam Engine Club Steam fair is a fun-filled, family-friendly day out that brings Scotland’s steam-powered past to life.
