One spoon, many stories 🥄♥️🌍

Back in the 80’s I was part of a Young Enterprise Company at Fortrose Academy so when Cultura Palate from Oldmachar Academy got in touch with me to say their Young Enterprise Company had just won the Grampian finals in Aberdeen with their Cookbook and would I like a copy I jumped at the chance!

The 7 team members have produced a cultural cookbook containing 25 written recipes passed down from generations of their families. The book contains a selection of starters, sides, mains and desserts from across all of their cultures. 🇨🇳🇮🇳🇵🇰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇳🇵🇳🇬

I bookmarked a few recipes that I wanted to try and decided to firstly make the Moroccan CousCous Salad. A really fresh and flavourful dish with warming Moroccan spices, crunchy almonds and plenty of herbs. Light enough for summer but still filling thanks to the chickpeas - definitely one I’d make again.

Wishing the ladies of Cultura & Co all the best in the upcoming Scottish final.

📍 Findlater Castle - dramatic, exposed and slightly terrifying. Recently used as a filming location for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. (No sign of Matt Damon, Tom Holland or Zendaya on our visit)

Not one for the faint hearted to visit. A somewhat perilous adventure as one wrong step and you’re tumbling into the North Sea. Steep cliffs, sheer drops, uneven paths and no barriers/handrails.

But oh so worth a visit! Just don’t take the kids, wear sensible shoes and hold your nerve. A polished tourist attraction this isn’t.
