A really nice interview with the Farmers Guardian about Lurgan and our dogs.
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already, we’re still learning the farm and the stock every day, but feeling very grateful for the opportunities and the people along the way.

At Lurgan Farm in Perthshire, Gert and Ann Van Dyck farm 2,800 acres of hill ground alongside a pack of 12 working collies who form the backbone of a low-input, organic sheep system. 🐑🐕

“It is a partnership [with a dog], and when it works well it is incredibly rewarding and I think the dogs can feel that too.”

We’re still buzzing from our day at Dalmally show yesterday, our sheep did us proud!
- Our young ewe became Female champion and overall blackface champion
- ⁠Our tup lamb became male champion
- ⁠most points through the show
- ⁠1st and 2nd in the young ewe class
- ⁠1st and 2nd in the tup lamb class

Well done to Acharonich with their old ewe for taking the reserve champion.

Aberfeldy show 🐑🏅
Our first time showing sheep.
We can’t take any credit for the breeding behind these girls and boys, and we had a lot of help from Dave getting them looking their best, but we really enjoyed the experience and are thrilled with the results.
A big thank you to everyone who lent a hand this morning and for the people organising this show!
