On our farm we rear Bourbon Red heritage turkeys and Dexter cattle, and grow fruit & vegetables in our market garden. Callender’s Farm is located close to the market town of Abergavenny on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. On our farm we sustainably breed and rear Bourbon Red heritage turkeys to high welfare standards, providing turkeys to the Christmas market, off-heat turkey poults (

~8-weeks of age), hatching eggs and occasional adult turkeys. Heritage turkeys, which include the Bourbon Red, are given priority status on the Rare Breed Survival Trust (RBST) Watchlist and, alongside our business, we are also passionate about helping to grow and sustain a healthy population of this wonderful rare breed in the UK. In addition to our turkeys, we also grow a range of fruit and vegetables in our market garden, and care for our small herd of pedigree Dexter cattle. Our Dexters enable us to provide pasture-fed beef to the local market, and are critical to our regenerative approach to our small farm.
