Southdown Commercial Success

We are into the final group of lambing 2026 here with just 135 Aberfield x Welsh ewe lambs remaining, which we lamb outside and have all gone to our homebred Southdown tups.

This year have a selection of Suffolk cross aberfield ewe lambs with the main Aberfield replacements

We have great success using our Southdowns over our commercial ewes along side our homebred Ile De France tups. With both breeds offering us

✅Carcass quality, which is vital as all lambs are finished on farm.

Proof that Southdown tups are at home in a commercial system, both indoor and outdoor.

We have selection of yearling tups available this summer which are suitable for both pedigree and commercial uses

This lad has been working in our commercial Aberfield flock for the past 2 years producing some top quality lambs and has now been brought into the pedigree flock
He is a spitting image of his father and we are hoping that he will follow on in his influential footsteps.

Flock competition 2025

Our first entry into Class A (40+ ewes) and coming away with 2nd place behind the overall champion flock.

Glad to see our development of the flock over the last 12 years is paying off
