Job Purpose
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the global Lactalis Group. As part of the Engineering Team reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that plant, machinery and equipment are capable of meeting the day-to-day Company needs. This includes planned preventative maintenance, machine modifications, machine breakdowns and plant improvements.
Working in a clean and responsible manner, constantly monitoring production machinery and affecting repairs to all services with in production areas. With an eye for detail and a proactive approach to troubleshooting, you will be required to work with minimal supervision and to work flexibly on occasion to meet operational needs.

Your Tasks

· Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure that there is no potential risk to food product safety, or Health & Safety and for reporting any defects should they occur.
· Undertake repairs to plant, machinery and equipment specified CMMS or whilst in the production area, including routine maintenance of boilers, heat pasteuriser and processors and basic plumbing repairs.
Skills we need
You will hold an electrical City & Guilds qualification and have a sound mechanical engineering understanding. This is a physically demanding post and you will need to demonstrate a high level of competence against the following profile.

The ideal candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have a flexible approach and meticulous attention to detail. Flexibility is required in hours of work to cover two night shifts. 18.00 - 02.30 and 22.00 - 06.30 in accordance with business needs.

Skills we need

This position is physically demanding. You will be confident in decision making, people management and leadership with a right first time attitude. Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential and knowledge of Microsoft packages. You will have experience of Production lines and processes.

Job Title: Night Shift Team Leader Distribution (Chilled Goods)

As a Team Leader, you will lead the staff on your shift, allocating and monitoring breaks, assigning staff to specific roles on a night-to-night basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the products in your area are stored, wrapped, rotated, bar-coded and despatched correctly and in the correct stock rotation. You will be responsible in ensuring staff are up to date on training records.

You will ensure that all stock stored within chilled storage or wrapping hall are correctly identified for traceability purposes and finished goods are stored and protected to prevent the risk of contamination. Keeping the wrapping areas clean and tidy, you will assist management to ensure all finished goods are accurately despatched.

You will report directly to Distribution manager and work with supervisors from am & pm shifts. Tasks to include a written hand over to am shift and receiving a handover from pm shift.

Skills we need

This is a physically demanding role, partly based in a cold environment –in refrigerated areas working in an area where immaculate hygiene standards are essential.

You will have supervisory experience and preferably have knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations and Health & Safety Regulations. You will be flexible, have an eye for detail, good written and oral communication skills along with good numeracy and literacy skills. Qualifications in Food Safety Level 2, HACCP Level 2 and Manual Handling would be beneficial although training will be provided.

In the chemistry lab, key job responsibilities will include fat testing using the Ge**er method and protein testing using the Noir Amido method. The work entails collecting, preparing, and testing dairy-based samples. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and testing the repeatability of equipment, as well as ordering and maintaining stock.

Skills we need

The ideal candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have a flexible approach and meticulous attention to detail. They need to be efficient, independent and work well within a team and be able to work under pressure. Additionally, the post holder will need to be competent in the use of computers for data entry.
