Day 2 of Porto was a trip to the vineyards inland in the Douro Valley. The steepness of the valley is crazy, vines planted in some areas almost vertical. Have to appreciate the hard manual work in harvest time.

Stopped at Quinta do Bomfim for a riverside tasting on their terrace. Their 2015 vintage red was the standout and a bottle came back.

Then it was up to a small independant producer at the top of the hill for some spectacular panoramic views. Their 10yr tawny port was special so that also made it into the suitcase.

Fantastic place to visit & my knowledge on port is vastly increased. Shame it was just a quick weekend trip.

Day 1 of Porto was into the city itself and over to the Port lodges on the south side of the river that are nestled deep in the cool hillside. The ageing cellars were the standout feature, I’ve never seen such huge wooden tanks. And the aroma of rich sweet wines throughout gets you hyped for the tastings at the end.

Kopke The oldest port producer since 1638 and one of my favourites. The vintage range was off the charts. You think you know about port wines and then you come here.

Fonseca Port was next. Founded in 1815 and now owned by one of the most famous producers, Taylor's Port.
The LBV was particular tasty but their crusted vintage made it back home with me.

Just wish there was more time in the day to do a few more… 🇵🇹🍷

This week we have been out and about to our top secret sloe & damson picking spots

Harvest season is always a special time for our team, getting a few days out of the distillery in some quiet & beautiful fields. The weather has been spot on as well.

We only pick our hedgerow fruit late into September & October. That way the berry is super ripe & perfect condition for picking; soft, juicy, loads of natural sugars.
Just one of the many reasons we make one of the best sloe gins in the world! 🏅🌍

Any guests attending a distillery experience will now be able to order a barrel-aged old fashioned 🪵🥃🍊

We have just taken delivery of a custom 5L American oak barrel with glass ends, and filled it with our delicious house recipe for an old fashioned.

This is going to be extremely tasty in a few weeks.

Kicking off the week with huge news that our Single Malt Wh**ky debut has been picked up by the The Wh**ky Shop and a small allocation is now available online and in their stores nationwide!

Our local store is A Wh**ky Shop In Oxford so do drop by for a tasting in store if you can’t make it to our distillery.

A few snaps from our launch party weekend which was an absolute blast!!
We kicked off things on Friday evening with our Founders Club members joining us for a private tasting followed by our public launch party all day Saturday.

A huge thank you to everyone that came out and bought a bottle of our wh**ky! We are now 80% sold out.

The feedback we have received on our inaugural release has been overwhelming so thank you from all of us at distillery. Cheers everyone 🥃
