New season sacks of spuds are back in stock! At present we have three varieties - Mozart (red skinned, good all rounder, especially good for roasting), Jelly (yellowish skin and flesh, half way between waxy and floury) and Camel (red skin, white flesh, all-rounder). This time of year is often one of change for us - younger staff off to uni or college for the first time, and others going back for another year: good luck, hope you have a great term!
This year is exceptional as we will also be saying thank you and goodbye to two well known staff members. Tom and Ray have both given years of skilled service to the butchery industry, many of which behind our counter. We will miss them very much, as we know you customers will too - all that cooking advice and friendly chat!

Every week we have lots of scotch eggs delivered - they're wrapped in beautiful real wool insulation. It's fully decompostable and is just too good to throw away. So we wonder if anyone could make any use of it?
** Lovely to see that there's some demand for this product. Today's scotch eggs have arrived, so the woollen packaging is sitting next to the till, ready for someone to take it away! On a first come, first served basis **
Possible uses could be:
🐕 insulation of sheds, kennels or hutches
🌼 mulch for flower beds
🗑️ bulk for compost bins
🪡 arts and craft activities - for quilting maybe?
🪴 lining for hanging baskets or planters
🥩 packing of other cold products
plus anything else you can think of!
Please let us know if you'd like some.
