Fancy becoming a butcher? Or maybe you’re already a butcher and fancy a change of scene by the sea here in Aldeburgh?

We’re looking for someone new to join our team. That might be you, or perhaps you know someone who’d be just the person.

We’re a busy independent butcher, working with some of the very best farmers and producers in Suffolk, and we care enormously about good meat and good butchery.

Interested? Drop us a message or pop into the shop for a chat. And please share this with anyone you think might be our next Salter & King butcher.

Few things put a smile on Jo’s face more than holding a side of Belted Galloway.

We’ve got some mighty fine Suffolk beef in the counter at the minute, so maybe steaks are on the menu this weekend?

Sausage rolls, baked fresh every day using the finest Suffolk pork and very flaky pastry.

When they’re gone, they’re gone. And they do tend to go.

You could take a big chunk of Suffolk pork shoulder, slow cook it in your Le Creuset UK with beer, onions, stock and a few herbs, then leave it in the oven for six hours until it falls apart.

Shred it over soft corn tacos, add a dollop of our homemade coleslaw, some sliced Maple Farm Kelsale Padrón peppers and our pickled red onions. And place it all on a lovely Falcon Enamelware platter.

That would be a very nice dinner indeed.

Suffolk pork is the best in the world, hands down. And pork shoulder is a wonderful way to eat it.

We’re talking more about this brilliant cut and how best to cook it in our Good Meat Club newsletter, which happens to be going out this morning.

Thank you, as always, for all the support and love!

Old Cow is coming back to the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival!

We’ve been out at Iken choosing a couple of Richard and Natasha’s beautiful pasture-fed Yarn Hill cows for this year’s festival.

It’s always a pleasure to spend time with the herd and see first-hand the care that goes into raising these cattle and looking after the Suffolk countryside they graze.

Good farming matters. See you at the festival this September!

It's nearly Aldeburgh Carnival time! 🎉

Always one of the highlights of the summer, and we have a feeling this year's is going to be bigger and better than ever.

We're doing things a little differently this year, serving our proper Suffolk hog roast out the front of the shop on Carnival Monday, 17th August, from 12 to 2pm.

Come and grab a roll, soak up the atmosphere and say hello!

Picanha might have made its name in Brazil, but it's earned its place in our counter.

A beautifully tender cut with a generous fat cap that bastes the meat as it cooks, delivering incredible flavour.

Cook it whole over on your , slice it across the grain and you'll be very happy indeed.

We might be a traditional Suffolk butcher, but we know a good cut when we see one.
