What a successful week it was last week, with the Black Beauty Bonanza kicking off on Wednesday with a seriously high standard of cattle, especially in the female sections. A big thank you to Steph Dick for judging the Young Handlers competition, which is never an easy task.
We had 116 entries into the Bonanza, so it was a big task for Balfour Bailie to get through, but it was expertly done, with not many complaints — which is rare! 😆
On Wednesday night, we moved on to the first ever Black Gold Sale, and we were delighted with the interest on the night. 12 out of 18 heifers sold, giving a 67% clearance, with an average of £6,205.
A big thank you to all the vendors who put heifers forward and supported the sale. Your backing made a huge difference in getting this new venture off the ground. Also, a big thank you to all purchasers, and good luck with your new females in the future.
