🥪 Deli & Retail Assistant – 30+ Hours

We’re looking for a confident, hardworking and enthusiastic person to join our team!

We are looking for a Deli & Retail Assistant to join our busy convenience store. This is a varied role covering both the deli and retail sides of the business, so we need someone who is confident, hands-on and able to work independently.

The Role

Your duties will include:

* 🥪 Preparing and making sandwiches, rolls and other deli products
* 🍳 Cooking and preparing hot food
* 👩‍🍳 Taking initiative with the production and preparation of deli products
* 🛒 Serving customers and operating the tills
* 💷 Handling cash and card payments
* 📦 Replenishing stock and maintaining high shop standards
* 🧼 Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
* 💡 Using your initiative and being proactive during busy periods
* 🤝 Working as part of a friendly team while also being able to work independently
* 🔞 Serving age-restricted products, including alcohol and to***co, in accordance with legal requirements and company policy

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

* Be aged 18 or over due to the sale of alcohol and to***co products
* Have previous deli, food preparation or retail experience (preferred)
* Be confident preparing food and working in a busy environment
* Be comfortable using tills and serving customers
* Have a good level of initiative and be able to identify what needs doing without always being asked
* Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
* Have a friendly and positive attitude
* Be flexible and available to work weekends
* Be willing to learn and take on different responsibilities

Food Hygiene certificates are an advantage, but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Hours & Availability

30+ hours per week for the right candidate

The role will include weekend work, and flexibility around shifts is required.
