The Dalmore

The Dalmore The Dalmore Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. In 1263 a member of the Mackenzie clan saved King Alexander III from a charging stag.

This single act of bravery was rewarded with the gift of the royal stag emblem for use as the Mackenzie clan crest. The Clan Mackenzie owned The Dalmore Distillery for over a century and its defining influence is still evident to this day, with the iconic royal stag antlers standing proudly on every bottle of The Dalmore.

Aged for 34 years, Bottle II of the Cask Curation Series: The Madeira Wine Cask Edition was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before an eight-month finish in a Bual cask from our Madeira wine partner, Blandy's.

On the nose, aromas of dried fig, stone fruit and vanilla toffee mingle with subtle hints of cardamom. The palate reveals Seville orange, peach, Manuka honey and nutmeg, giving way to layers of dried fruit, toffee, sweet oak and delicate patisserie spice on the finish.

“Seductive and enticing, this fascinating single malt excites with its layers of dried fruit, honey, exotic woods and warming spices. A true sensory experience that evokes travel to distant shores.”

Dr. Kirstie McCallum, The Dalmore Master Whisky Maker

Bottle II is now available as part of The Madeira Wine Cask Edition, a limited release of just 150 sets worldwide.

Introducing The Dalmore Distillery Select 2026, a limited edition Single Malt finished in Semisecco Marsala wine barriques, hand selected from within our dunnage warehouse.

Chosen by our whisky makers for their exceptional rarity of character, these Semisecco Marsala barriques were reserved and patiently nurtured until the whisky reached its defining moment - not according to age, but when the harmony between the Marsala cask influence and The Dalmore’s signature style had reached its full potential.

Distillery Select 2026 (ABV 53.7%) was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished for over a year in these rare casks. Natural in colour and non-chill filtered, the result is a richly expressive Highland Single Malt of remarkable depth and elegance.

The nose opens with floral aromas layered with sweet clementine, stone fruits and honeyed malt. On the palate, candied orange peel, sweet pear and buttery toffee unfold before a long finish of sweet citrus and rich oak, fading into a memory of festive spice.

Limited to 1,110 bottles, Distillery Select 2026 is exclusively available directly from The Dalmore and our Highland distillery home.

Nearly a century of shared history and generations of expertise made world-renowned Forsyths the natural partner to fabricate the new stills at The Dalmore’s reimagined distillery.

Our uniquely unbalanced stills define the character of our new make spirit, capturing a dual flavour profile of bright citrus and malty richness. Preserving their precise dimensions was therefore essential to safeguarding the depth and complexity of The Dalmore Highland Single Malt for generations to come.

The relationship between Forsyths and The Dalmore spans generations. Following the Second World War, the current owner's great-uncle served as the distillery manager here at The Dalmore, while his grandfather later worked on the installation of stills during the original Stillhouse expansion of the 1960s.

Working from their Rothes workshop, Forsyths hand-crafted exact replicas of our existing stills, combining age-old hand-hammering techniques with advanced engineering practices. Every curve, angle and dimension was meticulously recreated to the nearest millimetre, preserving the integrity of the originals.

The completed collection of eight copper pot stills - arranged in a distinctive criss-cross formation - stands as a testament to Forsyths’ precision and painstaking work.

Guests can view our stills as part of The Dalmore Experience. Reservations are now open for 2027 with a limited number of experiences remaining for 2026. To secure a preferred date, please visit https://bit.ly/4wGeo4a.
