Apprenticeship Opportunity
We are looking for an agricultural apprentice to join our team this autumn

A bit about us,
Heckley High House Farm, 2 miles north of Alnwick.
We are a family business and a small close-knit team and as a result we have a flexible friendly working environment.

The farm is split between grazing for 300 suckler cows and arable ground producing seed crops that we retail as Heckley Seeds.
There a few diversifications at Heckley including holiday lets, a camp site, livery yard and a pudding kitchen (Proof of The Pudding).

We have modern machinery and cattle handling facilities and are embracing new technologies.

A bit about you,
We are looking at this as a long-term career opportunity beginning with an apprenticeship. You don’t need a lot of agricultural experience just a good attitude with an interest in agriculture and a willingness to learn.

The job,
A bit of everything but as part of a team and with a lot of training and support.
The main aspects of the role will include feeding and bedding cattle during the winter and help hauling grain and bales during the summer. Putting up and repairing fences, planting trees and hedges, making tree guards, mowing grass, gardening, machinery maintenance, laying concrete and workshop fabrication.

Training will be provided for everything you are asked to do, we want you to enjoy working here so if you are not sure just ask.
We are very happy to support you in getting professional qualifications as part of an ongoing personal development. This would include course fees, personal protective equipment, and time necessary to achieve this.
I am happy to provide contacts for former employees who have worked for us in the past.

For more information, please give me a call or send an email.
