The 2025 update map has arrived - thank you to Tanya for her efforts to squeeze everything in!

A wet and wild day but at least we don't have to be on the look out for any grumpy cows this afternoon!

Good morning everyone, what a grim wet day, I hope you are all at home in the warm and dry!

I found this story from 1932 on an unrelated search a week or so ago. It is quite a tale, which seems to have been picked up by publications up and down the country. By all accounts the cow was 'on the run' for several days, eventually being caught when 3 decoy cows were placed in a field, fooling the escapee into joining them for some hay.

So many questions.....what is a decoy cow? Were 6 people deployed to a field in panto cow costumes 🤣

Things to do while you are here.. So many opportunities to admire birds of prey. With buzzards and red kites soaring above the paddock and the owls calling at night, you might be inspired to book with Hampshire Hawk Walks and enjoy flying a Harris Hawk or Barn Owl in the spectacular setting of Chawton House You could drive over to Hawk Conservancy Trust and admire the splendid raptors in their care or while bumbling the ancient streets of Wi******er look out for the peregrines who nest at Wi******er Cathedral

Hope you were able to get outside this weekend and spot your own signs that Spring is truly on the way. With the daffodils starting to colour up and the catkins blowing in the breeze it seems it won’t be long until it arrives in the Shire
