Tucked away a stones throw away from the beautiful Stock Ghyll Force waterfalls in Ambleside, we're your go-to spot for good food, great coffee and a little time out in the Lakes. 🏔️

Whether you're fuelling up before a walk, refuelling afterwards or simply looking for a lovely spot to enjoy brunch with a view, we'd love to welcome you!

Saturday - Sunday: 9am–5pm

🐾 Dog-friendly, with indoor seating and a terrace to enjoy those gorgeous Mountain views.

🚗 Limited customer parking is available on site. Remember to register your vehicle on the café tablet when you arrive!

Brunch with a little bit of attitude 🌶️🤌

Creamy, smoky, spicy and ridiculously good at getting you to mop up every last drop. Our Smoky Chickpea & Butterbean Turkish Eggs bring silky hummus, roasted red peppers, wilted greens and perfectly poached eggs together under a blanket of chilli hollandaise, finished with a drizzle of nduja oil and a sprinkle of toasted seeds.

And yes, the warm flatbread is absolutely non-negotiable! 😉

Hundreds of people walk past this building every week. But how much do you actually know about it?

Kelsick Grammar has been part of Ambleside’s story for well over a century.

The building was constructed in 1906 using money from the Kelsick Educational Foundation, which was created from the will of John Kelsick after his death in 1723.

His legacy was intended to help young people in the local community fulfil their potential through education.

The school opened in 1907 and remained Kelsick Co-educational Grammar School until 1965, before later becoming part of Charlotte Mason College and the University of Cumbria.

So when you walk through the doors today, you’re stepping into a building with generations of local history behind it.

🚨 SATURDAY PSA: Tomorrow’s lunch plans have entered the chat.

Forget the cooking, skip the washing up and leave the Sunday roast to us. You’ve got more important decisions to make… like how many roasties is too many? (We don’t believe in such a thing.) 😉🥔

🍽️ SUNDAY ROASTS | 1PM–3PM

Think crispy roast potatoes, roasted root veg, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, greens, pigs in blankets, sausage & sage stuffing and lashings of gravy. Basically, all the good stuff. 🤤

What’s on the menu?

*Our slow-cooked Cumbrian Beef Brisket is taking centre stage tomorrow, served with horseradish sauce and rich beef gravy.

*Our trusty Roast Turkey is here every Sunday, because some classics just can’t be beaten.

*And for our veggie-loving roast fans, our Butternut Squash & Lentil Wellington is always on the menu, too.

Our meaty specials rotate, so there’s always something to look forward to on future Sundays! 👀

Not feeling a roast? Some of our other usual lunchtime favourites will be available too.

Crisp days call for colourful bowls... Say hello to one of our lunchtime favourites - Greens n’ Grains, with a little autumn attitude.
