Been looking forward to this cow calving all year she was one of them cows which came bulling and I couldn’t decide which bull to ai her with and thought i haven’t got a beef short horn in the herd yet so 9 months later here we have this 60kg monster heifer born at 5am this morning
Cow wouldn’t get up after calving so had the vet out by 7.30am and treated the cow for milk fever (calcium deficiency) which worked quickly

A fantastic day at Crowle Show for a local little show it’s a brilliant day out for the family
Micky got 🥈second in a very strong bull class
Caesar got fourth in the same class
Vespa got 🥇first in cow and calf class
And went on to get reserve native champion 🏆
We entered into the beef pairs class which had 10 entries and went on to win fourth place 💪

Even becca dusted of her show coat since Thomas has been born to come in the ring
Dad had all the hard work trying to keep control of the calf 💪💪

Thank you to mum and Rebecca Huber for keeping and eye on the kids and well done to Arthur for getting 5th in the young handlers for he first time in the ring borrowing one of Parkin Butchers heifers to enter

We also got 🥈with our hay and becca got 🥉with her plumb jam
Couple of weeks to get ready for our next show at sykehouses near Doncaster
