One of my fondest memories of visiting my grandmother in Abkhazia during summers are the markets. We would go there to buy everything we needed and the stalls are filled with colours and smells like you’ve never seen before. It’s an unforgettable experience.

I would push through the crowds making way for my mother or grandmother, and we would go to the traders selling fresh homemade produce - cheese, spices, meats, vegetables, bread… and of course my grandmother would pick something wrong with the most perfect of the produce just to barter down the price a little 🤭

We’d finish the trip at the watermelon man’s stall where we would taste and take the sweetest one home to enjoy.

It’s one of the greatest compliments we receive when our customers say our spices and condiments take them back to their travels through Georgia and the markets there 🥹 We use our family recipe of authentic Georgian blends to make all our condiments, no compromise, just the true taste of our cuisine 🇬🇪

We get asked about our packaging - what is the material wrapped around the adjika in delivery boxes? 🤔

It’s 100% natural sheep’s wool. We need to keep adjika cool during hot days when it’s in transport - and we like to keep things as eco friendly as possible here at Happy Adjika. So we use sheep’s wool to place around the products to keep the temperature cool in transit. Wool is an incredible material to keep things either cold or hot - so it works perfectly for us without using plastic!

You can then either compost the wool, or you can reuse it for craft, or if you garden you can place it around plants to keep moisture locked in the soil, prevent slugs from eating your garden, and to keep plants warm during frosty spells.

Do you reuse the wool when you receive your order?

BBQ season, but make it bolder 🌶️🔥

Adjika is the easiest way to bring big Georgian flavour to the grill. Stir it into yogurt for a dip, brush it over chicken or kebabs, mix it into mayo for burgers and fries, toss it with veg and potatoes, or simply serve it on the table and let everyone dig in.

One little bowl. A whole lot of flavour.

Save this for your next BBQ ❤️

Food has always been at the heart of our family - through many years of travelling, it was something that brought people together, taught each other about different cultures, was a way to socialise, and relax.

We take this inspiration into our brand, and want to bring joy to your everyday cooking, gathering loved ones around the table, discover new tastes, and be happy ❤️

Here we are sometime in the 90’s, settled in the Caucasian mountains enjoying a winter BBQ 🏔️

From our family to yours - we share our family recipe in every jar of adjika!

How to use adjika for a BBQ marinade 🔥🌶️

Pick your favourite Adjika flavour: Red, green, walnut, or scotch bonnet. Mix a tablespoon of Adjika with olive oil and rub all over your protein, or veggies. Leave for an hour in the fridge.

Fire up the BBQ and cook to perfection! Adjika adds flavour and a little heat depending on your chosen jar - we also love mixing Adjika either mayo or yogurt to create a delicious dip for potatoes or a burger sauce!
