Nestled amongst the hills of the glorious Test Valley, in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, lies Black Chalk Wine. We have been making top quality English Sparkling Wine since 2015 and in 2020 we built our new home - a state of the art Winery, Tasting room and Shop. Surrounding the winery in the rolling Hampshire Chalk lands are our 30 acres of stunning vineyards spanning three sites: Rivers
, which is bordered by The River Test and The River Anton; Levels, the largest of our vineyards and split over two levels; and
Hide, hidden away in a beautiful valley that bakes in the summer sunshine. All are situated on shallow soils above solid chalk that provide a purity we believe is the foundation of quality wines. We grow 34 different clone and rootstock combinations of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Précoce and Pinot Gris in our vineyards. These combinations provide an array of quality wine profiles and we treat as many as we can separately. From the resulting base wines we create a number of small batch Sparkling wines including; Classic, Wild Rose and our first ever still wine, Dancer in Pink. We run tours and tastings where you'll be guided through a tour of our vineyards and winery and have a tutored tasting of our wines. Stop in and treat yourself to a bottle, a glass or a wine flight and perhaps a spot of lunch from our locally sourced food menu. For an extra special treat you can also pre-book a sparkling afternoon tea.
