From coal to clean energy

Coal mining helped build the North East. Today, the same mines are helping to shape its low-carbon future.

At Lanchester W**es, we're proud to be the first private business in Great Britain to harness heat from disused coal mines, using geothermally heated mine water to reduce the carbon footprint of our Gateshead warehouses by 80%.

It's a project that feels particularly fitting in a region whose identity is so closely linked to mining.

Pairing w**e with chocolate is often considered one of the most challenging combinations in food and w**e matching, making it a fascinating subject to explore.

We recently hosted another successful w**e and chocolate pairing event at Full Circle Brew Co, showcasing how carefully selected w**es from the Lanchester W**es portfolio can complement and elevate different chocolate styles from Choc Amor.

Guests tasted a range of pairings designed to highlight the interaction between sweetness, acidity, tannin and flavour intensity, demonstrating that when matched correctly, w**e and chocolate can work exceptionally well together.

What a weekend at Oukton Park!

Fast racing, unpredictable English weather and plenty of familiar faces. We were proud to see Baglietti Prosecco playing its part in the celebrations once again, with the race winners taking to the podium armed with bottles of Baglietti to spray over the crowd and each other.

A brilliant atmosphere, some fantastic racing and a great way to spend the weekend. 🏍️🥂
