We’re looking for a cheerful, friendly and outgoing person to join our team as a Counter Assistant / Front of Shop at JB Penman Butchers in Crail! You’ll be chatting to customers, taking orders, making recommendations and, of course, helping us sell all the good stuff! 🥩🍗🌭

BUTCHERS APPRENTICESHIP - FROM 16+
Fancy learning a trade, getting stuck in and becoming part of the JB Penman team? 👀 We’re looking for a Butcher’s Apprentice to join us in Crail! You’ll learn the ins and outs of the butchery trade, from preparing and cutting meat to making our famous sausages, serving customers and everything in between. 🥩🌭

No previous experience needed in both of these roles - you don’t need to know your sirloin from your silverside - we can teach you the butchery bits, you just gotta bring the right attitude & willingness - we're one big family here! So if you love good food, great people, and being part of a cracking team then what are you waiting for!😄🍔🥩

We're thrilled to announce that we will be supporting and sponsoring our very own JOSH HEPBURN in his season for Brechin City Under 20’s!👏🏅⚽

Behind the scenes, Joshie has been helping us a lot in the butchers this summer taking in the footsteps of his very own Dad (& we're hoping to get him back in the next school holidays too!). After work, he's been going straight to football training and doing amazing at it!

It’s almost time to say goodbye to our 100-year anniversary memory board 🥹🩵✨

On the last day of school, 6 weeks ago, Crail Primary kindly lent us one of their display boards to help us celebrate our 100 years in business — and, of course, Crail Fest! 🎉

We honestly can’t believe how many people have stopped to look through all the photos over the past few weeks. From asking questions about them, to spotting familiar faces and remembering loved ones who have passed - it’s been SO lovely hearing everybody’s men, and how much you have loved a trip down memory lane🩵

It’s going to feel very strange without our big board in the window! (We might just have to buy one ourselves and keep it up all year round 🤭😂)

Sadly, we’ll have to return it to the school next week, so for anyone who hasn’t had the chance to see it in person, here’s a little video of our 100-year memory board before it goes! ✨

Thank you to everyone who has stopped, looked, shared a story or spotted someone you know — it’s made this little piece of our 100-year celebration even more special. 🩵✨

Nearly 10 years on, and he’s still scrubbing the fridge door🧼😆!!

We’re delighted to have Josh, Chris’s oldest son working with us throughout the summer & helping us out during our busy season💪🏼🌞

When Josh was very young, he used to come in to the butchers and see his daddy & to keep him busy and entertained, we would give me little jobs. Now, at 17 - he does it for a little livin’🤝🏼💰🧽

What a transformation of our boy! & we’re really keeping it in the family now, huh?😅🩵
