Low Howgill Butchers & Deli We are an award winning Butchers & Deli in Appleby, Cumbria. Our beef & lamb comes from our own farm

Low Howgill Butcher & Deli in Appleby is run by the Allisons. Opened in August 2015, Steve (the Butcher) and Jennie (The Baker) source traditional breeds of beef and lamb meat from Jennies family farm, with pork and chicken souced locally too. The deli offers a range of pies (made by Jennie) and condiments again sourced as locally as possible from Edens rich larder.

Our John is at Cumberland Markets in Keswick today & he’s got all of our usual goodies including Shorthorn Beef & Herdwick Lamb from Farm, Cumbrian Wild Roe Venison & locally sourced Pork & Chicken. There’s burgers & kebabs for your BBQ as well as a good range of our handmade pies, pasties & sausage rolls. There’s plenty of our sausages of the month too, the very popular Cumberland & Wild Garlic & the Pork & Cracked Black Pepper too.

A new pie in our Deli counter this morning Chilli, Mac & Cheese (for a limited time while stocks last!). Chilli con carne made with our Shorthorn Beef steak mince & topped with a rich macaroni cheese 🌶️ 🧀🥧
Also our popular Curry Chicken pie returns as well. Chunks of chicken in a mild curry sauce wrapped in our shortcrust pastry. What’s not to like!

We’re slowly getting back to normal here in Appleby now that our visitors have gone! Here’s a reminder that our sausage of the month for June is Pork & Cracked Black Pepper. There’s still plenty of Wild Garlic about so we’re carrying on with that one too!

Our sausage of the month for June is available now from our Appleby shop, from our Sedbergh market stall today & from our Cumberland Markets stall at Keswick tomorrow & Saturday.

This month we’ve gone for Pork with Cracked Black Pepper. A tasty all rounder that’s great with a breakfast, with mash or chips & gravy or on a banging sausage butty 👌🏻
