For anyone who doesnโt know me, Iโm Ailsa ๐๐ผ
Iโm 31, mum to two beautiful children (8 & 10), fiancรฉe to the man Iโve been with since I was 15 (who took 12 YEARS to propose, so donโt hold your breath for a wedding anytime soon!) and also parents to our 6-year-old cocker spaniel, who is very much the baby of the family! ๐ถ
Baking has always been a love of mine, but Cakes & Bakes by Ailsa was born during lockdown in 2020 when I needed something to keep me sane whilst being furloughed! ๐ตโ๐ซ
After 13 years working my way up from a weekend job in a soft play centre to assistant manager, a wee stint at uni studying child nursing (turns out that wasnโt for me ๐คฃ) and a job as a School & Pupil Support Assistant for 4 years, which I absolutely loved - especially within the ASN department - I finally took the leap of faith and decided to follow my passion full-time.๐ฅฐ
My biggest claim to fame? I was Head Girl at school ๐ค I also trialled for the Scottish Girlsโ football team ๐คจ.. & I travelled to Rwanda to help children and families ๐ฅน So, all in all, a bit of a mixed bag before I found my true calling! ๐ซ
Fast forward to today, and Iโve worked so hard to build this little business into what it is. Taking the risk to go all in was a huge decision, but hopefully it wonโt be a decision I regret ๐ค๐ผ
