On Sunday, our senior members attended the Cranleigh Show with a fantastic team of sheep. We took along a pair of Millennium Bleu lambs, a pair of Beltex × lambs, Ivy Cottage Bexon, our Kerry Hill shearling, and Ivy Cottage Harley, the Poll Dorset ram kindly loaned to us by Hadley Glover.

One of our senior members, along with a couple of our ex-members, also exhibited their Romney lambs and the Suffolk shearling ewes, Ali and Julie.

We were thrilled with our results:
🐑 1st Place & Champion Pair of Butchers' Lambs – Millennium Bleu pair
🐑 3rd Place – Beltex × lamb pairs
🐑 2nd Place – Ali and Julie in the Suffolk Shearling Pairs class
🐑 2nd Place – Ivy Cottage Bexon in the Kerry Hill Shearling class
🐑 4th Place – Ivy Cottage Harley in the Any Other Down Breed Shearling Ram class

It was a fantastic day with some brilliant results, and we're incredibly proud of everyone who represented the club. A huge well done to all our members and ex-members for their hard work and dedication.

We'd also like to thank everyone who supported us throughout the day. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to returning to the Cranleigh Show next year!

On Saturday, our members attended a fantastic Dairy Training Day hosted by Holstein Young Breeders at Westwood Farm.
Throughout the day, our members got hands-on experience learning a range of valuable skills to help prepare dairy cattle for the show ring. They learnt how to wash and prepare a dairy cow for showing, practised leading and training cattle, and watched demonstrations on how to present and stand a dairy cow correctly in the show ring.
Our members also had the opportunity to get involved with clipping dairy cattle and learning the techniques behind creating a professional dairy topline.
After a fun-filled day of learning, everyone enjoyed a lovely BBQ before heading home. Judging by the very quiet car journey afterwards, it's safe to say everyone had a brilliant day and was thoroughly worn out!
A huge thank you to Holstein Young Breeders and everyone at Westwood Farm for hosting such an enjoyable and informative training day. We can't wait to put everything we've learnt into practice!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out recently regarding our animals in this hot weather, we appreciate you all taking the time to share concerns.

Given this unprecedented long term hot weather all of our animals are very warm. They do have water available in the shaded areas of their fields and are checked regularly.

We will continue to monitor them closely.

We kindly ask that if you are walking through the public footpath between the fields with a dog, please be mindful that the sheep can and do get stressed when Dogs bark at them so please do not linger if your dog is barking.

Our members and leaders also had great fun taking part in some of the fun extra classes throughout the weekend! 🎉🐑🐄

Many of our members entered the Ex-Members Class, representing their previous Young Farmers' Clubs, and we were also delighted to welcome back some of our former members to compete. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces back in the ring! Most of our current members made it through to the final line-up, with our clubs members proudly taking 1st, 2nd and 4th places.

Our members also took part in the Beef & Dairy Pairs classes, where they teamed up with cattle from other clubs attending the show. Together they achieved some fantastic results, winning 2nd in Dairy Pairs, along with 2nd and 5th in Beef Pairs.

Our Suffolk shearling Ali competed in the popular Sheep Sweepstakes class, where one of our members showed her off halter in a large and competitive class. They put in a brilliant performance and came away with 6th place.

Ali also took part in the Teachers & Leaders Class, where our helper Lisa stepped into the show ring to show a sheep for the very first time! She did a fantastic job, and it was great to see our leaders getting involved and having fun alongside the members.

These fun classes are always a highlight of the weekend, bringing everyone together, creating plenty of laughs, and making even more fantastic memories. 💚🐑🐄

What an incredible weekend for our Beef & Dairy Team at Kent Show 2026! 🐄🏆

Friday – Conformation
🐮 Beef • Sussex × Dairy heifer Vixen placed 4th in the Beef × Dairy class for calves aged 5–10 months. • Angus × Dairy calf Ivy achieved 3rd in the Beef × Dairy class for calves aged 3–5 months.
🥛 Dairy • Our pedigree Holstein heifer Bluebell won 1st in the Dairy Conformation class for calves aged 3–10 months. Despite being the youngest in the class at just 4 months old, she impressed the judge and took the top spot!

Saturday – Young Handlers & Knowledge
Our members demonstrated fantastic handling skills and excellent knowledge of their cattle.
🐮 Ivy and her handler secured 3rd place. 🐮 Vixen and her two handlers competed in different classes, achieving an excellent 2nd and 4th place.
In the Dairy Handling & Knowledge classes, Bluebell and her handler were awarded 1st place, earning them a place in the Dairy Championship... where they went on to be crowned Dairy Handeling & Knowladge Champion! 🏆

Sunday – Turnout
After hours of washing, clipping and preparing their cattle, our members looked fantastic in the turnout classes.
🐮 Ivy and Vixen competed against each other in the same class, with Vixen placing 6th and Ivy recieving a special. A brilliant achievement for both beef calves.
🥛 Bluebell and her handler won 1st place in the Dairy Turnout class. They then progressed to the Dairy Turnout Championship, where they were crowned Dairy Turnout Champions! 🏆
After winning the Dairy Championship, Bluebell and her handler competed against all of the other livestock champions in the Supreme Turnout Championship. Following an incredibly tense final judging, they were announced as Supreme Turnout Champions for the entire weekend! 👑🐄

We couldn't be prouder of every member of our Beef & Dairy Team. The countless hours spent training, washing, clipping and preparing their cattle truly paid off, and the results speak for themselves.

Congratulations to everyone involved on an amazing Kent Show 2026. We can't wait to return next year with even more dairy calves and an even bigger beef team

What an incredible weekend for all of our sheep and members at Kent Show 2026! 🐑🏆

We are so proud of everyone who attended and the fantastic results achieved across the weekend.

Friday – Conformation
🏅 Our Millennium Bleu lambs won 1st and 2nd, before going on to take 2nd and 3rd in Pairs, as well as 3rd in Group of Three.
🏅 Our homebred Beltex cross lambs placed 6th in Pairs.
🏅 Our Kerry Hill shearling achieved 5th in Conformation.
🏅 Our two Suffolk shearlings were each awarded special rosettes.
🏅 Our Polled Dorset ram finished with an impressive 2nd place.

Saturday – Handling & Knowledge
Our members put on an outstanding performance, bringing home a 2nd, 3rd, 5th and a Special Award thanks to their excellent handling skills and livestock knowledge.

Turnout
Our members also impressed in the turnout classes, where both the presentation of the handler and the sheep are judged.
🐑 Homebred Beltex cross lambs – 3rd and 5th
🐑 Millennium Bleu lambs – 4th
🐑 Suffolk shearlings – 2nd and 6th
🐑 Kerry Hill shearling – 4th
🐑 Polled Dorset ram – 4th

Every early morning, every late night, and every hour spent washing, clipping and preparing our sheep was worth it. Seeing all of our members' hard work rewarded with such fantastic results makes us incredibly proud.

Congratulations to everyone involved – you've all done an amazing job! We're already looking forward to next year and can't wait to come back even bigger and better! 💚🐑

Kent Show 2026 – that's a wrap! 🎉🐑🐄

What an unforgettable few days it has been! We're incredibly proud of everything our small club has achieved this year.

Finishing 9th out of 14 clubs is a fantastic result, and every single one of our members and leaders should be proud of the hard work, dedication and team spirit they showed throughout the show.

There were plenty of highs and lows, happy tears from our leaders, lots of laughter, excitement and memories that will stay with us for years to come. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way.

Now it's time to celebrate everything we've achieved... and then start looking ahead!

Roll on Kent Show 2027 – we'll be back, bigger, stronger and ready to do it all again! 💚

3 days to go until kent show !!!

Today was an early start for our members who got to the showground at 9am this morning and the first to start setting their club displays up✨️

Our animal displays are up and so are our personalised animal boards featuring all the lovely farmers that kindly loaned us animals this year
