August was a lot!
Mainly talking in tents with top chefs. And I'm absolutely here for it. What a month! 🥰
Here's the detail.
1.The wonderful Clare Coghill talking chanterelles, seasonal cooking and life in Skye.
2. Jimmy Lee always brings the crowds at Glasgow Foodies Festival. Check out his Edinburgh street food place Salt &Chilli at Bonnie & Wild.
3.Craig Nelson from Ox & Finch and Ka Pow came to the Foodies Festival in Glasgow and caused utter chaos!
Probably the most fun I've had on stage this summer. Even if he did use every pan, plate and utensil in the tent 😅 I was washing up FOR HOURS!
5.Making audiences do daft stuff for giggles. I will always use my power for good.. promise 😉
6. A cooking masterclass from Bistro Eleven Fifty Five's Peter McKenna.
We spent an inordinately long time talking about their oysters with Vietnamese hot sauce. IYKYK. 🦪Correction, I did that. Peter just tried to get on with his demo like a professional.
7. Always a joy to see these boys in the wild.🥰
8.Tatties galore at the Potatoes in Practice event for the James Hutton Institute. Spent the day cooking in a tent that was hotter than hell in a field in Perthshire. Because this is my life now.
9. A dish from the Potatoes in Practice event. A rich potato risotto using Scottish grown Elland variety with Bonnet goats cheese. The tattie farmers loved it.
10. A super tasty tartare at our pre-tattoo supper at Le Bistrot
11. A night at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The rain stayed away for the performance and the lit backdrop of the castle reminded me how much I love this city.
12. Squeezed in a show with Victoria Jackson | Interior Designer | Scotland at the last gasp of the Fringe.
13. Roast chicken. Just because.
14. Andrew has created a stunning space with a carefully curated unfussy, simple but elegant seasonal menu. Please visit the newly opened The Postbox. You’ll love it!
15. A rare day off spent eating a cracking lunch with Mr SRC.
16. Weekly piglet visit at Arngask Home Farm 🐷
17. I'm not sure you need a reason to make these chicken thighs with Bold Bean Co cannellinis and courgettes, other than it's comfort in a bowl.
18. Oysters on repeat this August. These were the gooseberry hot sauce ones from the The Gilded Saloon. 5 ⭐️, 10/10, would order again.
19. Cucumber gazpacho recipe testing. Do summery and fresh.
20. An early morning loch walk to reset.
