💙 Brock is safely back with the staff! 💙

We’re so pleased to let you know that Brock has returned safely after his operation. 🐾

He has had the first stage of his surgery, with the most badly affected hip being operated on. The vets are very happy with how the operation went, and Brock is already moving around well and, most importantly, seems happy. 🥰

Now comes the important part — recovery! Brock will have around two weeks away from his friends to make sure he doesn’t damage his stitches. He’ll have plenty of pain relief, close monitoring, lots of rest… and, of course, lots and lots of cuddles! ❤️

Unfortunately, the vets couldn’t safely complete both hips in one operation, so Brock will need to return for his second surgery once he has fully recovered from this one. There’s no rush — our priority is making sure he has plenty of time, love and care to get back on his feet before we put him through the next stage.

Thank you all for your kind messages, support and concern for our lovely boy. Please keep those positive thoughts and cuddles coming — Brock has a lot of love surrounding him. 🐶💙

💚 Please help little Brock! 🐾

Brock is our gorgeous 4-month-old ferret here at the Bucks Goat Centre, named by our wonderful community, who has sadly been diagnosed with a rare condition called Avascular femoral head necrosis.

In short, he needs an operation to give him the best chance of a happy, healthy life. The X-ray and surgery will cost around £970, with his operation booked for 2nd September. As you can imagine for a little farm like ours, this is a huge cost. You can read more of his story by clicking the link below!

Winnie is practising her hose control to help keep everyone cool over this coming heatwave!

We will be busy keeping our animals cool, spray offs with the hose, plenty of shelter and making sure their water buckets are topped up constantly!

💦☀️ Monday Splash Play has been a fantastic success! James has loved welcoming so many of our younger visitors to enjoy our little beach area. 🏖️

With the warm weather set to continue, we'll be leaving some water play equipment out from today until Friday this week, giving children another chance to cool off while they play.

As James will be busy helping to keep our animals comfortable in the heat, we kindly ask that all children are supervised while using the water play tubs.

🐾 Ferret Update! 🐾

Our ferrets have now had some time to settle into their new home, and it's been wonderful to watch them grow in confidence. As they've become more comfortable, their true personalities have really started to shine through!

They are still young, boisterous, and absolutely full of character. Whether they're exploring, playing, or investigating anything and everything, they keep us entertained every day. They also love interacting with people—perhaps a little too much sometimes! We're currently helping them learn how to behave during human interactions so they can enjoy meeting visitors in a calm and safe way.

Because they're still learning and developing, we're not currently able to offer mini experiences where guests can meet them up close. However, we're hopeful that as they mature and continue their training, we'll be able to introduce these experiences later in the year.

Thank you for being patient while our mischievous little friends learn the ropes. We can't wait to share more updates as they continue to grow! ❤️
