Now that the cows and calves are mostly housed we feed silage and build up to 2 kg per head per day of a calf rearer nut to ease the transition for weaning. The calves stay on the nuts for the winter and it is then stopped when they go back out to grass next spring. We fitted the Jourdain heifer headlock gates to the calf creep pen before housing as we had used one bay in the cubicles and found them so useful for day to day management tasks.

We now have 5 EX classified cows, 6 VG and the remaining 3 first calvers at 2 yrs as GP

- Dam Ballycreggy Cherry 1st / Sire Ravelglen Davos EX92.
He is 5 star replacement Eurostar. Mostly white

- Ballycreggy Caesar DOB 07/06/2024
- Dam Glassdrummond Cherry 46 / Sire Ravelglen Davos EX92.
He is 3 star replacement Eurostar. Mostly white

All are well over 500kg at under 18 months and will grow into strong breeding bulls.

We have previously exported breeding bulls to GB and are willing to export any to GB or ROI (ROI exports will require approx 6 weeks to meet export requirements) and transport for export can be arranged at buyers expense.

Please note Ballycreggy Charlie carries a single copy of the recessive F94L myostatin gene. As a single copy of a recessive gene (which requires 2 copies to have effect) this will have minimal effect on the animal however at present due to his birth after 01/01/24 he is eligible for class 2 registration in the herdbook. This remains full pedigree and all offspring are eligible for registration.

These are two fantastic heifers from two hard working cow families.
Ballycreggy Rose is a 3 ⭐️ replacement heifer out of Ravelglen Maisie VG88 (yet to be classified this year so hopefully she will go up) and Ravelglen Davos EX92.
Lot 8 is Ballycreggy Cherry 8 a 5 ⭐️ heifer out of a 5 ⭐️ dam Glassdrummond Cherry 41 EX93-3 and 5 ⭐️sire Beauty Hill Edgar EX91.
Cherry 8 is from perhaps the most influential and highly classified cow family in the breed with multiple generations of her dam’s daughter being classified EX across many many herds. This is an extremely rare opportunity to buy such a well bred heifer and we are only selling her due to having ever dam and sister retained in our small herd.
The dams of both have calved every year and raised great calves from grass.
They are available to export to GB and can be exported to ROI after BVD vaccination.
Both have been halter trained after very little work and are very quiet and easily managed heifers.
Can be run with our 5 star ⭐️ stock bull Rossigh Leveller after the sale if required.
