LIVES, LAND & LEGENDS - SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
Step back to a simpler time and peek in the window to an old Irish way of life. Capture the spirit of the past, from field to farm-stead to fireside. Following the Celtic farming calendar, get hands-on with the farming seasons and join us for the celebration of Summer Solstice
Start with a traditional Irish country welcome with a drink and light bite followed by a reflective walking tour of Willow and Lore family heritage farm connecting you to the place, a forgotten era and the midsummer season
Step into the shoes of our farming ancestors and get hands on with seasonal farm activities:
Make butter, from milk in the urn to butter in the churn
Thresh the wheat from the chaff and learn how to take corn from meadow to dough
Growing potatoes with man, horse and tractor power. From potatoes in the soil to spuds on the boil
With these staple ingredients and local produce, traditional Irish food is prepared on a griddle and enjoyed around the open fire, listening to local and summer solstice folklore and finishing up with a customary Irish parting glass.
