Slemish Market Garden, located near the ECOS Centre in Ballymena, prides itself on using traditional methods to grow seasonal fruit, vegetables and cottage garden plants on site.

“We’re just a vegetable shop ,a very good vegetable shop but nevertheless just a farm shop”

We do carry so many real immune boosting products when they are in season or available to us, this is what we live on and this is the whole point of what we do ,now we don’t always get it right ,we make mistakes like everyone ,it’s not perfect ,not by a long shot but this is the best we can do , we’re just a coalition of farmers,growers,gardeners, artisan makers and producers all working together sound the clock to bring the best food possible into this shop ,we will have so much produce ready over the next few weeks as it becomes available we will post what’s new and what’s ready 🚜

“ Probably the last photos from a hidden Ulster for this year “

We took off today towards the border and ended up doing the Mulroy drive up past the lakes to Fanagh lighthouse and it was so beautiful even though it was wet and windy ,over cast ,dull and not good at all for trying to get a few photos ,we hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures from our wee Sunday trips out as much as we did taking them ,it’s been a great Summer ,one to remember so I’ve included here 10 of my favourite snaps taken from over the months , it’s been fun

“ Just sold out”. …………..here’s a fantastic product that we have at the moment ,take one or two teaspoons a day and your immune system will thank you for it , now it’s a fresh product ,won’t sit about ,use within a couple of weeks of it being made ,£17.00 per 300 ml pot but it is sooooo worth it ,

These Victoria plums will sell out in one day !!! Well we are back to work in the morning ,we’ll never have everything in place for 9.30 it’ll be more like 10.00 before we reopen , should be well stocked up ,but just picked today these “Victoria plums “ there’s just enough to do for one day ( they always sell out very quickly ) ,,,we’ve a lot on these next few weeks , Dont ya just love September ,only thing is everything’s coming ready at once !

Walking on Inch Island

Well we are on holidays, maybe we over done it this time but what started out as a leisurely dander around the inch island nature reserve bird watching ended up as a full blown hike out over the island ,it’s a wonderful quiet and peaceful place ,the Swilly was glinting as the sun bounced of it but we did get caught in a thunderstorm that only lasted long enough to send us running for cover , we haven’t many more long drives out that we’ll be able to take now as the summer comes to an end so we’ll just squeeze the juice out of every hour we can and enjoy every single minute

Just a wee reminder “WE WILL BE TAKING MONDAY OFF “ bank holiday ,we’ve really restocked the shop as much as possible for the morning and we’ll just work until we run out of produce

corn on the cob, tomatoes , kohl-rabi, all in the shop this week, we’ve never worked harder nor
longer hours than we’re doing at the minute, our harvest is just about to kick in and there’s a real sense of urgency as the earth rotates ,the seasons change and the days get shorter, a lifetime of growing and we still love these late summer days when we can count our triumphs and leave the failures in our wake
